Im really interested of the GP32 and if the price is right Ill get one and btw are the ones sold already umm oveclocked?

Unless you buy one that is modded to be overclocked then no, the will be standard... I think lik-sang were stopping sales due to the BLU+ problem.. might want to try an local auction site..

Even if I get a unmodded one how do I get to overclock it?

Is it by sofware or hardware?

$120 us right?

This thread is so confusing. <_< Blu's are worth plenty more than $120. Getting a new one from an online retailer will be more than $200 and if you get it used it won't be much different.

His original question, as I understand it, is if he buys the GP32 local to where they are made... well I guess not like Hong Kong is not local to Korea but still....

he is not paying the mad price inflation that companies charge for importing the thing... maybe it would cost less.

But now that I think about it, in Hong Kong it may be $200 just like everywhere else.

When I said $120, I was thinking like if he actually walked into a store in Korea, the true retail price of the thing not counting all the BS overhead importers like to charge, was probably about $120.

or you could do the voltage mod.

trebus you'll probably be able to overclock it a bit. you set it as an option in the various software applications. mine does 156 MHZ, some people's do 166 or more.

Browsing across the net i found that liksang has opened a store in HongKong meaning there is a better chance of getting a GP32 in HongKong thanks and voltage mods are they easy to do?

I can get my uncle who is very proficient in electronics to mod it for me so what do i need?

a couple of resistors, a soldering iron, and a screwdriver :)

I believe the instructions for the voltage mod are at www.cobbleware.co.uk , but that might be a little out of date...

I bought my plain vanilla GP32 in Hong Kong, in April last year. I paid around 1200HK$ and I bought it at the Lik Sang store. I don't think they had modded versions of the GP32, at the time at least. The store is really easy to find, it’s quite near the Sham Shui Po MTR station (subway).

lucky you

btw. overclocking is a software thing, programmers can make a program run at various clock speeds, and a gp is guaranteed to oc to atleast 133mhz, but most can do more and if you want to be really sure buy one at gbax

Hi Trebus,

I live in Hong Kong, there isn't much awareness about the GP32 here but of course this is the homeland of Lik Sang. Lik Sang now have a shop that you can visit, the address should be in their website. The price of the GP32 is pretty much exactly the same as the internet minus the shipping fee. I bought one there a few months ago (a BLU, luckily not a BLU +)

Thanks and how much is the GP32 in LikSang anyways?
Seem like they put in out of stock on their website so I dont know their prices.

Thanks for the website!!!

I got the GP32, the link cable, 3cds and free Dungeons & Guarder for $1600 HK dollars. That's like 7.8 US dollars to the HK dollar.

However, my wife (Hong Kong local) negotiated those extras (at first they said that offer was only for internet customers)

Wow $300 of my countries dollar that's kinda expensive.... but oh well
thanks for the help and I'm going in 1 more day more info would be appreciated....

So no one knows how much you could buy one for if you lived in Korea? Even in Hong Kong it's still an 'import'... I have a hard time believing the thing is any more than $150 if you bought it retail, natively in Korea.
