I am wondering if any of you know a good website for manga and a good website for anime (can be 2 different sites) that cover all of the popular anime/manga that makes it to the US, has reviews (preferably with a rating ex:9/10) and has an age rating which lists why it got the rating (such as 13+ for violence and language). Thanks.

Search for stuff like "anime network" in Google. But Huxley here has a brilliant site:
www.animeboredom.co.uk
Also check out 4chan.org and other images boards if you're an expert in it or just interested.

Heh i'm a bit dubious about some of the 'anime' on that site.

Try a site like www.animenfo.com and scout out the top-rated stuff. It's like IMDB for anime, so everything has reviews and ratings. HOWEVER, it does cover Japanese stuff as well. To be honest I prefer watching subtitled stuff over English dubs, because the dubs are terrible and you get used to the subs eventually.

There is only one anime you need to watch:
Elfen Lied.

I'm currently diving into the deep end of anime and reviewing it. Elfen Lied is the best show i've seen so far by a long way (not pedo).

PS: Subs for life ok.

Why thanks :D

We have no scores or age ratings, though. We diteched the 10/10 scores because it started to get a little tedious giving most stuff 4-7. But if you're looking for something that's just plain good, I'd recommened anything Yoshitoshi Abe has been involved with. Namely Serial Experiments Lain, Kino's Journey and Haibane Renmei.

Elfen Lied.

I read your review, sounds very interesting. It just got passed uncut (!) by the BBFC so a UK release should be on the horizon.

As for anime... I'm finishing up Cowboy Bebop which is fantastic. Then I'll be watching Gunslinger Girl since it's short, then FULL METAL ALCHEMIST WOOT WOOT How about you?

Crosspost from other forums I go to:

I've seen (In recent years and un-american/whateverised):
Kodomo no Omocha: This really got my attention and boy i spammed images from it all over this forum. It's like an acid trip with children. Oh Misako will always hold a place in my heart <3 8/10 (i'm a faggot)
Elfen Lied: This is recent when I decided to jump right into the deep end. Fantastic ideas and well portrayed characters. The way it went from horrifying violence to cute romantic comedy was great. The only thing that put me off is the whole excess of nudity (fanservice) and naked little girls (ugh god no molestation no ugh). But you know, it's ok in context, I just wouldn't want somebody wondering in and thinking i'm a pedo. 8.5/10 (PS. Nana is adorable)
Gunslinger Girl: This show really hit me about half way through. At first I was wowed by the art and violence, but then it hit me like a ton of bricks that the characters were all so human inside. Pretty sad in places that's for sure. 7.5/10
Di Gi Charat: Wow am I tripping on acid, this is like condensing the entire ridiculousness of the 102 episodes of kodocha into 3 minutes. Amusing as what it is but lacks real uh... everything. It was an advertising ploy anyway so... 6.5/10
Dogtato-Kun: Adorable and fun kiddie show, but my god I'm sure i got some really dark undertones from that show (Cynical Celery man). Nice little series, worth a quick look at. 6/10
Comedy Pokemon Option: This isn't good, it isn't really anime either. But DAMN Ant and Dec had the funniest pisstake pokebattles ever inbetween each show. SMTV Live never forget.

MOVIES I HAVE PARTAKEN IN BUT I CANNOT BE ARSED TO COMMENT ON:
Akira: Awesome, first anime I ever saw like 6 years ago.
GITS: Pretty good
Lupin III: something something: Fun

TO WATCH (in this order):
Noir
Azumanga Daioh
Serial Experiments: Lain
Excel Saga
Boogiepop Phantom

Stuff I'll probably watch at some point:
Now and then, here and there (oh god i'm a sadist and i like depressing myself)
Narutaru (not naruto)
Miss Critcal Moment (CANNOT FIND)
Chobits
Ebichu the HouseKeeping Hamster (lol perversion lol)

Anime-me-do:

Cowboy Bebop - Fucking ace!
Hellsing - Fucking ace!
Trigun - Fucking ace!
Rurouni Kenshin - Fucking ace!
Full Metal Alchemist - Fucking ace!
Samurai Champloo - Fucking ace!
Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex - Fucking ace!
