Because people would fly really high into the sky, and there would be casualties.
And also there is practically no demand for them.

Aren´t they just Sci-fi ?
Would´t you burn your ass ?
Wouldn´t they be far too dangerous to become a legal product?
Would you buy une if they´d cost about 5000$ without having any real use?

Are you Duke Nukem ;) ?

They don't actually burn fuel as such, they displace heat and whatever, so you see no fire, but you're forced upwards.

OK, that site anwers my questions. So no rockets here that would threaten my ass. :)

Those Exo- Skeletor jetpacks would be great for Dr. Robotnik cosplay :D .

Speaking as one of the many government scientists who post on GP32X, I can assure you that jetpack technology will be commercially viable by December 2008.

Jetpacks are not just in the movies, i remember in school telling someone about them.. he just laughed.

They are about, but i fear they are under constant testing.

Here is a video for you all to look at :) They are not science fiction :p Click here for the video

I dont know about you, but i'd love to have something like this.. Except maybe id like to have my life back if i accidentily ran out of fuel hundreds of feet in the air

We are looking at changing to Jetpacks completely by 2021. The best part is that we have managed to create hydrogen fuel cells so problems like peak oil and climate change are soon to be a thing of the past!

I saw a jetpack in King of Queens tonight.

When I was like 5, I thought we would have had them by now.

So, when we get jetpacks, I think to keep it in the realms of common sense, you should have to take a test to fly one.

Either that or just use it on your holodeck.
