Looks really nice Craig.

But why is it white? I thought they decided to go with black.

Personally I like the white one. Wish we had a choice.

wow, the design is realy way better than the gp32's, how do it feel?
ps: arr why didnt you remove the protection foil :-/

Yes they will be black, the demo ones are white and grey-silver, so the photos are of those.

It feels and looks geat, you are going to really like it i think.

"I think"

That doesn't sound to convincing. Hopefully it will turn out good.

How was the screen contrast/brightness? as good or better than a BLU+?

I can see that vertical MAME games are out as they stuck with the lame volume control under the stick, start and select should have been there :( Where start and select are now it looks like it will be easy to hit by accident when using the lower buttons. It is just too crowded in that area, bad design there. Mod time...

DaveC, it's just an expression... Don't read so much into it. :p I'm quite sure he just means "it's great and I think you'll like it too."

You should be a professional film or book critic man. Seriously! You could tear stuff apart like no other. Hehe.

The buttons:

1) it's been said the volume button is fully programmable, so it can act as a fire button (or 2)

2) I see what you mean by busy - i.e. accidentally hitting start. But it's hard to be sure without having one. It may be just fine as is.

If it makes you feel any better, I do agree the start/select and volume rocker should've been switched. But it's too late now, and it isn't so bad.

And I think I know why they did it that way - it's so you can control media apps with one hand I think.

Never have I agreed so much, The new design works really well for different angles.

Its a lot nicer than the GP32 and the colour change IMO will make it more so. I've had enough of waiting though. Could really use some more information, like a PDF of that GPX2 overview would be good start.

Some shots of GPX2 from Gameabout Webzine interview of GPX2:
(Already translated and posted it at the news board and waiting for admin to take it up to the news board)

Volume button seem to be more extruded than it originally seemed, making it a bit more plausible for pressing. Missing start button, obviously because it's a prototype...
Flat level screen does make me worrysome about scratching.

Standard USB port this time. Awsome. but Stereo seems to be in the way. Dunno if it's going to be easy to wrap the right hand around that.

Edit: oops, that's a DC power plug, not stereo... Where is stereo?! o_O

Prototype test board. Screen contrast looks good considering the office in the pic is lit very brightely.

Edit: Ah, stereo on the top. (see the green plug?) :D

Great they moved the ext port to the bottom :)
Wait, thats not the bottom, is that the left side?
Also nice that they use a standart mini usb plug this time.

Ooooh Gray and silver looks quite nice, but rubber flaps!

*again not a joke*

Looks like bottom.

See the rubber cover that says ext (barely visible) in the top left corner pic in the second photo?

It looks nice, but it looks kinda thick too. I wish it were thinner.

Are you talking about *ME*

Well, those HappyMeals are starting to show... :( And I don't your brighter look on life.

I worry about the stick... Looks damn slippery. GP32's stick is nice, um, hollowed. My thumb sticks to it very well... Ad a bit of sweat into that, and it may slip, when least appropriate. :( Unless it's changeable. :)

Those pics are old, and of a prototype. The things been changed since then :)

Now, all the connections are in one place - look at Craig's piccies.
