I've seen a lot of pictures of the GP2x around the forums but I still can't seem to get an idea of it's actual size, I know I could just read the dimensions on a specs list but I would like to see a picture showing the actual size maybe comparing it to something else.

Cheers for any help.

Yeah I saw that, but is that the actual size? And I don't have a PSP nor have I seen one or one of those i-station things.
So I can't really compare them

Yeah that's a great picture, so it is pretty small :) I guess that clears it up. From the pictures i'd seen I was expecting it to be very large.
Thanks DA

Now to go find me a beefburger...

I think someone mentioned that according to the size that is specified on the GP2X homepage, the GP2X is pretty much exactly the same size as the GP32.

Personally, I'm kind of disappointed. I wish they had made it flatter somehow (although it's probably impossible because of the batteries). At it current size, it's not exactly pocketable, so using it as an MP3 player on the go is going to be difficult.

Just use the given dimensions to make your own paper mock up :p

I'm more interested in seeing the final unit. Unless that's the "final edition" that they're already showing? Light grey buttons... <_<

it also says that it is 95% final version so there may be a couple of small cosmetic changes such as a 400mhz cpu and a touchscreen in time for launch. Oh yes, and probably wifi and a Compact flash slot too.

compact flash would make it to big. Thats why they don't use it.

I do have a photo shop file that prints off in the correct size, (yeah I am really execited for the gp2x) but don't know where I can host it in its normal .psd formate.

@garteth

regarding the size of this thing: you know the size of a quarterpounder with cheese?

well, its roughly as high as one of those, but not quite as high as a double quarter with cheese.

Hope this helps

ps. the slice of cheese is important

I'm not very happy about the "battery bulge" either. But it's not easy to fit two AA batteries without creating an ugly bump. I tried to fit them below the screen but I'm not sure it would be any better. It just becomes too big in another direction instead

can anyone make a to scale pic of the gp2x. so i can print one and pretend to play on it :p

Actually that's a little small, atleast on my monitor. The screen is supposed to be the same size as the GP32's and I just put mine next to it for a comparison.
