why do you class a company that employs a lot of people thus sustaining their and thier families existance being evil?

Uh...you could use that same argument on almost anything:
Why do you call Microsoft evil when it employs a lot of people...
Why do you call Enron evil when it employs a lot of people...
Why do you call Wal-Mart evil when it employs a lot of people...
Why do you call Tobacco companies evil when they employ a lot of people...
Why do you call the illegal drug trade evil when it employs a lot of people...
Why do you call Hitler evil when he employed a lot of people...

Because they don't employ people to be nice to them. Like all companies they need employees to work for them. Doesn't make them nicer in any way.

Strange, just days ago a Nintendo DS trojan horse that bricks the DS had also been released, claiming to be a new DS rom patching software.

Although if youu had FLASHME on already it is fixable.

I don't feel sorry for the companies, I feel sorry for the people. If someone did that to my GP32 or my new GP2X, I'd be either furious or weeping hiding in the closet, telling my family to get away from me. (Love manic episodes, don't you?)

There has to be a way to remedy the PSP somehow.

old news, but this isn't that bad. from what i've read, not many have been affected, and those that did are the type that download and run whatever comes their way.
Eolair, why do you think that sony is evil?

I don't really feel either way about Sony. I haven't been in touch with the console industry since 84 when I sold my Colecovision and bought a C64.

My point is just that you can't say claim that a company is good by using that argument. Everyone employs people.

haha, i was expecting something a bit longer than that. anywya, seems like most people don't like sony, either. i sure as hell don't :) stupid psp with its expensive memory media...

so, by your logic, Nike is right to make people work for barely anything because they employ them?

Hello.

You wouldn't have internet if it wasn't for the capitalism.

Thanks, bye.

I quite like sony (bring on the ps3 :p ) but would never buy a PSP, i had a funny fealing something like the brick 'trojan' would come along at some point simply because its not good karma to be passionate about a big moneycentric company which only has intersest in prising money out of their customers with very little reward. Is it a little unfair to compare Sony to Stalin and Hitler. MicroSoft however...

I like the quote from the irc log "[02:36] <HonkyKong> This was possible months ago, it's not like it's something new." which is true. People worried about this for flashme, hence the whole making contacts thing, which apparently wasn't necessary... I guess DF would make this because "he can". Its not the first time a "respected" DS dev has done something undesirable in a move against "rom kids" despite the fact half of them have free Neoflash kit ...

Actually, you wouldn't have the internet if it wasn't for the US government :p

Edit: A little off topic, but I just realised, I've been a member of this board for over 2 years, wow, I didn't realise I've had my GP32 that long..
