I was wondering if anyone had heard from gbax yet? I thought that they where shipping the pre-ordered units out Monday / Tuesday and would send people an email to confirm it when their unit had been dispatched. So has anyone recieved this email? (I haven't yet) Cya

I just ordered one from gbax.com "as in 10 hours ago" :)
I'm really looking forward to getting it, as it in spirit and community reminds me alot of my Amiga days, used to program alot there before moving on to unix programming and earning money on it wee  , been using Linux for 2 years now and i'm really looking forward to start porting stuff to this little thing or even write something just for the gadget itself.
I bought a psp earlier because Sony had released a linux dev kit for their ps2 earlier....How naive i was in thinking that it would ever be an open platform, with all these firmware updates restricting homebrew on it more and more.
But this gp2x is really an open platform and i can't wait to get my fingers on it and start working with it.
Heres hoping we will get a confirmation email from gbax.com soon!
Cheers!

Not that we want to rush him, I'm sure. A thorough check of the units is what we wanted.
when did you hold the referendum?

Obviously I want the units to be perfect, but "we are busy checking units" is not really satisfactory seeing as though we have paid £125 upfront and were told on the 10th Nov that all testing had been finished and the units were ready to be sent.
A progress report (any problems found etc?)/ time period estimation is the least we could expect.

Will we get a confirmation email when the thing has shipped, TELLING us "Your ultimate unit (different from all the rest, transforms into a combining robot that shoots laser beams) has shipped."?

This came to light as there were some minor hardware problems for the first batch in Korea so rather then send them all out (epsecially worldwide) and having some sent back (more bother) and out again, craig was going to check each one prior dispatch to limit the number of imperfect units (I hope).

Until the firmware issue is fixed and only some software released, there isn't much we can do with it at the moment...
