Hi there,
I'm trying to connect a gp2x to my powerbook and I can't get anything to show up. Does anyone know of any drivers out there?

I tried Spiv's maclink and the iGP32, but neither could see the device. I was in USB connectivity mode.

I know it's early days yet for the GP2x, just wondering if there's anything on the hjorizon for mac connectivity...

thanks

dorian

It's a bit strange. My mac mini could see the GP2x's SD card immediately, but my powerbook can't. That was with the same cable.

On the powerbook, the GP2x does show up in system profiler, so the machine can see it. On my ubuntu linux PC I had a similar problem and got it to work by manually mounting the card. I'll edit this reply if I get that to work on the powerbook.

Edit - Nope, I have no answers at the moment, but I'm starting to suspect that the Mini works because I've installed the X code stuff from the DVDs that came with the machine.

I have a similiar problem reported here. When I plug in the USB cable ... nothing whatsover happens

I realised that! I was just wondering if they worked for the GP2x and obviously they don't. I only tried them because they were the only things I could find.

My apologies too for posting in the wrong forum. I was a bit distracted having just received my GP2x and not being able to do anything with it.

I guess I'll buy a card reader...

I've just managed to get USB between my GP2x and my powerbook to start working. If I use a powered USB hub, everything works fine. If I take the hub away, it doesn't work.

Maybe the same answer would work for other people. I'm still planning to use a card reader for most stuff, but I'm pleased to have proven to myself that the USB has now worked properly on all three of my computers.

I found that it doesn't seem to support USB 2.0 ports. When I tried it on my PowerBook G4 it wasn't recognized, but it worked when I connected it to my old g4 minitower which has USB 1.1 ports. I was finally able to get it working with my PowerBook by using a USB 1.1 hub. Even an unpowered hub will work, as long as it's USB 1.1.
