HI All.

One of the reasons I got the GP32 was to play rpgs
on the move. I know there are the Zeldas ect..
but what about new Rpgs for the GP32 oh and they would have to
be in english. Whats ASLD? I did find a place with info on it but can't find it again.

Any help would be great.

The rpgs for gp32 are in korean, good luck playing them... The only rpgs you can play are on emulators (nes, snes, my butt) There are tons of good rpgs for nes.

Yes, chrono trigger is one of my favorites. But no snes games are enjoyable to play on gp32 yet, or at least not until snes9x gets a speed boost...

Final Fantasy for NES is good. At first I thought it would be boring but after the first quest it becomes very addicting, just like every other rpg.

I'm not a big fan of Eastern-style rpgs. I'd like to see something like Baldur's Gate come out on GP32 (some hope). In the mean time, I'll play Dungeon Master on CaSTaway.

Hmmm...anybody know about anyone doing a PC emu (cos then I could play Ultima Underworld 2 again!).

I dimly remember someone coding one a while ago that was open source to allow Macs and new school PCs to use old school software, but I don't think it ever got to the stage where it could play even the most simplistic game.

Maybe the MESS drivers could be bolted together and recompiled...

I tested some of the RPGs that I thought would be playable, and some actually ran well. Check my post at http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?showt...hl=gunple&st=40

Ultima 7: The Black Gate, Lufia 2 and SoulBlazer runs very well on the SNES emulator, with sound.

That version of Ultima 7 is woeful, doesn't do the greatest RPG ever justice at all!

Indeed, the pc version is so much better. But still, the SNES version works great on the gp32!

Don't forget to give the 'eye of the beholder' series ago on the SNES emu's, it's better than DM in my opinion (although I know DM was first), the fact that SNES emu's are slow doesn't matter for this game because it's flick screen. Ishtar on the ST is cool as well. Like DM but with outside bits.
