Firmware 1.2.0

I just upgraded with an A-Data 1GB card, and both the kernel and patch work perfectly. My SD still works also. I upgraded while using my Energizer 2500mah NiMH batteries, which had medium power. Last upgrade I accidently didn't switch my batteries, which were on low power, yet the upgrade still worked fine. Still, halfway through that upgrade I remembered they were low on power; it scared the crap out of me until the upgrade was successful.

I love the updated pic viewer; I have all of the Calvin and Hobbes comic strips, and they weren't at all readable until now.

I updated with one of those AData MyFlash 512mb sd cards and had the default skin and whatnot, everything works just dandy...I can finally read my garfield, online comic, and manga collection on the go...

Sweet...I just tested some avi's that used to have out of sink sound and it's in sink now...Looney Tunes Golden Collection here I come...

people (and by people I mean a single person) kept trying to get me to update without even reading a thread. Those people (and by people I mean PSYMASTR) ARE DUMBASSES :p

Im glad i didnt upgrade yet. Not that it would be too difficult to downgrade, but im happy with the recent 1.1.0 release, so thats where ill stay until a decent upgrade comes along. Shouldn\'t be long
Well, see I told you it would be alright.

EDIT: I forgot to post I updated fine.

Don`t upgrade to 1.2.0 please, I have lost the support of my SD card 1GB Kingston in 1.2.0. Wait until this problem be fixed!!

Somebody said that A-data 1GB works fine after upgrade so i did the same.Upgraded mine and now i enjoy 4-way navigation and my ADATA 1GB is working fine :)
Cool, I have A-data 1GB. Maybe I should upgrade then :)

Edit: Upgraded, everything's fine. ADATA 1GB definately works :D

I upgraded with a 1GB Integral card (didn't that work fine for others?). The firmware upgrade seemed to work, but it would no longer recognize either of my 1GB cards (Integral and Kingston), so I downgraded to 1.1.0 which works fine. (I never applied the 1.2.0 patch because I couldn't see it.)

Upgrade worked fine, and I was blessed today it seems as all 3 of my SD cards that I normally use work. (SanDisk 1GB, Ultra II 1 GB and pqi MMC 1GB)

Wanting to test photos straight from my camera though turned up a card that doesn't work, Kingston 512MB. Looks like more then just the 1GB Kingstons don't work. It was formatted as FAT, but formatted as FAT32 rendered no better results.

Since that card doesn't really matter to me, I'm sticking with the new firmward, the new picture viewer is quite nice... Hitting Y pulls up a icon driven menu for picture functions. (Undocumented I think)

As for the normal menus my only complaint is you still can't hit X to go back from the SD card menu to the main menu. I love the 4 directional joystick movement, not sure about the wrap around on the main. Oh they also fixed the problem with double jumping, when you go to a menu item it stays there, doesn't skip past to the next one.

If they can fix that SD bug and add X to exit SD/NAND selection, the next patch will be spot on.

Just for the record, after some deliberation (I don't yet have a suitable AC/DC adapter) I reinstalled the supplied GP2X skin and decided to upgrade my firmware to 1.2.0.
All seems to have gone smoothly with my freshly FAT32 formatted 1Gb Sandisk SD card and two freshly charged Ni-MH 2.3Ah Uniross rechargeables. The batteries still report as full after the process.

Phew..
