I am still waiting for my gp32. Howerever I recived I mail from gbax.com, that they were out of stock, and would'nt be able to recieve any until next week (damm'it).
BUT...
While waiting I was wondering: Since you are able to use the gp32 for media-playback, if it is possible for a media-program to turn-off the display(like a screen-saver)?

The reason for this thougt is mainly battey-life. You don't really need display, if you can skip back and forth, with L and R.

There is a simple command in the programming library (GpLcdDisable) to turn off the LCD display. However this command also has the following warning:

Be carefull because when they are disabled over a long period of time with the power on, it can shorten the life of LCD or affect screen quality.

Thats why gameparks own MP3 player doesn't use this feature.

okay... Possible damage to the LCD guess answers why that command is'nt in use - Just thought the idea might never have been considered
Then again I'm no programmer....
