Still Fresh
Hi all, I'm getting totally excited about the GP32, the emulated games appeal big time, as does the DivX player too.

Just a quickie about the movie playback... If I can get DivX movies from, erm, wherever, what do I need to do to play these on my GP32?

I'm not the most technically-minded guy in the world but I learn quickly and really want to get into the GP32 to get the best results.

You need to first purchase GPcinema from JOYGP. Then you must encode the divx videos using Virtual Dub. Look at some gp32 encoding guides.

Purchase??? How much?

And how long does it take to encode a movie?
It depends on you computer. Encoding usually doesn't take a lot of time. GPcinema is $10. You can only get it from JOYGP.

Just curious, can it only play divx (what format exactly is divx, is it dvd rips)? Andabout how many minutes can 128 card hold?

divx and xvid. A card can hold a full movie. I get episodes of south park (20mins) to about 14mb :)

I like to get better quality with my famy guy episodes so I encode with higher quality. So I get aroun 26 megs for a 22 minute show. I think that 14 megs for a 20 miunte show would have poor quality.
