My very first experience cutting glass. :D

It looks pretty ugly, ATM, but it's a lot better than the old one that I've gotten all scratched up by now.

I intend to spraypaint the black border on with this special spraypaint that bonds to glass that I found at K-Mart. Afterwards, I'll attach it with double-sided tape, as suggested to me by DaveC.

Hmm.. not bad. The screen protector I got with my gp2x is like indestructable though.

I have even tried to scratch the actual surface with my nail and it didnt work -.- My gp2x looks brand new still. Plus I like how there is the black border around it.

Mine got practically ruined the first time I ever put it in my pocket.

I guess its because I take care of it like a baby.. I always make sure to use the case, and clean the screen when i see smudges

I'd use the case if I had it... <_<

Unfortunately, GP32z is too backlogged on orders to send mine (I was one of the pre-orders before Oct 1) unless I order something else and request it. But I don't really want a TV-Out cable until later.

Ah, I see. Yeah.. Im a fool I ordered the tv out cable but now I find its a useless thing for me to have as I got no extra money to buy a adaptor for the S-Video thingy

Here is a picture that shows my glass mod. The pic was made to show my first joystick mod but if you look at the screen it is glass with the black mask behind it too :)

Did you cut it yourself, or get someone else to do it? It looks like a very clean cut. I just bought some picture frame glass and used a ruler and a glass scoring tool to cut it.

I cut it myself. I have this special XY glass cutting jig that I made. I used a thinner glass, about 1 mm thick. I don't throw my GP2X around or stuff in pockets so I don't need to worry about breakage.

This sounds really interesting. I just recently ordered a replacement "screen protector" from gp32z.com. Unfortunately, instead of a protective screen, I recieved a small piece of film, not too unlike the one I had to peel off the screen when I first bought it, the only difference is that it doesn't seem to fit anywhere.

So, for 5.99 and $10+ shipping for some piece of crap, I feel very ripped off. I am not sure if I was sent the wrong part by mistake, but I cannot really do anything with this film, or get ahold of the seller by email.

My whole point in buying a new one is because I accidentally cracked the screen protector that came with the gp2x.

Presumably you did remove the screen protector that's almost invisible on the outside of the screen, didn't you? That, I found, scratches very very easily - but once off, the screen seems fairly resilient to scratches (although it still gets fingerprintey very easily and reflects oddly when outside).

With my experience of GP32Z, I'd say you were just ripped off. I ordered a glass screen for my GP32 from them and received a used (there was glue on it, and it was scratched to shit) plastic screen. I sent an email explaining the situation, received one back that made it clear they hadn't read my mail at all, then no replies. A fucking joke of a "company".

Sorry to hear that. I still haven't got a response yet... On a brighter note however, I just ordered a 4 pack of 2700mAh AA. Hopefully Amazon.com is better than this gp32z.

How did you go about getting the original plastic screen protector off? I have a little hair (big? it's about .6 cm) underneath mine and I want to get rid of it, if it seems worth the effort.
