.. if you've got an sl5500+wlan card, you can rig it up to your gp2x with pppd over /dev/ttys0 and get yourself a new NFS /mnt .. ;) weird idea, but i guess i'm gonna give it a try until USB gets fixed ..

yeah, USB is fucking useless at the moment, why did they bother putting USB in it when you cant do shit with it.

hay man how are you going to rig a compact flash card up to the 2x? also you will still need a driver for the 2x other than that gd luck

i dont think hes got it working, ive just been googleing and what hes suggesting is that he is going to use a cf card from a sharp PDA that runs on linux (also has an arm prosessor) my question is how is he going to get the cf card in his gp2x, i wish him luck as i want wifi NOW!!!!

edit: bad spelling that I could see lol

They're bound to add a proper USB driver come firmware 9.2.1 :p God I'm happy with my 32

No. I think what he is going to do is get on the internet with his sharp zaurus and then connect the zaurus to the gp2x via a serial cable. Then he will share the internet connection with the gp2x via the serial cable.

./ is the command for running just about any binary in Linux. For example if you had a program prog.o you'd type ./prog.o to get it running.

You know if it wasn't for /. we'd be on version 9.2.1 by now.
Which unfortunately is still incorrect. Even without the sarcasm.
/. = slashdot [the website]

Edit: I don't have a problem with dyslexic people btw. Just get annoyed with all the people that try and blame GPH's problems on slashdot.
Scathing I know.

Don't mean to offend you but "./" is not a command its a syntax for the shell basicaly your saying "in this directory run this program" its a relative path not a command.

Just thought I'd clear that up for you linux noobies. :)

yeah, here's how it'll work:

sl5500+wlan card : on the internet already, no sweat.
<---- serial cable ----> gp2x : needs my new kernel, pppd, and a script

the gp2x connects to the sl5500 over serial, establishes a ppp connection, now has its own little 'network' between the sl5500 and itself. the sl5500 then acts as a bridge to the WLAN, and oila: the gp2x has itself some internet love!

lets see if i can get it working this week, just for the fun of it .. but if it does work, its (to me) a viable way to get gp2x network gaming up and running, for those who have the hardware ...

Sharp Zaurus SL5500, it's a linux based PDA with a pull out keyboard. Nice little unit. U can usualy pick em up on ebay for around 100 to 150 gbp.

Cheers

I think effort should rather be put into getting an SDIO Wifi card (some drivers are floating around there) working with the GP2X or simply let GPH build one ;).

Not meaning to offend you, do what you want in your spare time, but I doubt it would be useful for many people ;) .
