New Ds Media Capabilities

I am definitely getting this, but then that means I will only use my SONY PSP 2% of the time. :(
Oh well F*CK IT! I'll get that anyway, as my DS lite needs some lovin'

Don't really see the point, you can get a and an 4GB SD card...

Sorry but I can't be bothered Googling, but can the SuperCard, or M3 launch fully-featured media browsers, MP3s, JPEGs, and videos (10 full-length movies) on the DS screens.

Also, I just read this...

Thanks to some recent advances in DS hacking circles, Datel is even including software that will be able to launch applications on the DS, allowing for the possibility of some retro-games emulation action.

Yep... the M3 is a newer GBA Movie player, and also there is Moonshell a filebrowsery type program.
I don't know about the SuperCard, since I don't have one... but yes it's already possible to play video,mp3 amongst other things.

I don't recommend the supercard as a movie player particularly - I've not had great success playing videos through moonshell. (less than great quality and my sound nearly always drifts out of sync ...)

It plays mp3's fine tho'.

I should restate myself. I have the M3, it does ok on the movies I have been bothered to convert. That being said it's not what I use to watch movies on a regular basis. I was trying to push the point forward that it's already possible.

Moonshell is a gba app. Once coders get their mits on the DS capabilities movies will rock.

Moonshell is not a GBA app. It runs on both screens, uses the touch screen, and also uses the Internal thermometer to tell you what temp your DS is., while at the same time accessing the DS's real time clock.

Yeh - moonshell is a great app with lots of potential (Reading back through this my comment sounds a bit harsh!). But it doesn't play movies as well as GPcinema (GP32) can ... yet.

So if you want great movie quality on a nintendo DS the supercard is not a good choice for now.

My bad. I just assumed as Moonshell ran on SupercardSD that it was GBA forgetting that Supercard is DS compatible. Doh!

Omg..I hate those datel micro-drive things... If they want a micro-drive, at least make it with more memory! You can get a 4gb sd card for half that price...
