Hi all sorry if this is another noob question anyway im getting the battery charger with my GP2X from gbax.co.uk, so ive been looking for the highest cap batterys i can find. Anyway ive found these

Batterys

2700 mAH NiMH Ansmann i was just wondering if there are any higher cap AA batterys as ive been looking and havent seen any, and are Ansmann a good make as ive read on these forums not to get poor quality batterys and ive never heard of Ansmann before.

Ansmann is supposed to be one of the best brands available. Energizer is also good and widely available.

In my experience, Energizer rechargeables are cheap and nasty, don't hold charge long and don't fit properly (they're too short).

I use Uniross 1300s and 2300s which are excellent.

Funny, I got 4.5 hours out of Energizer NiMH easily, and never had a problem with them fittting in my First Edition or Normal Edition.

I bought them at Sam's club; $20 for an 8 pack of 2500mAh NiMH Energizers and a 8.5 hour charger.

4 AA would last me a day of playing when I could, then I would swap them for the four in the charger every night, worked fine for me.

What charger were you using taras?

And did you put extra-long batteries (like the Bexel ones the GP2X came with) in before the Energizers?

I am happy you found good batteries that work for you, that is what is most important :).

Now I find it the other way around :) The energizers I use are excellent, whilst the Uniross's I tried were complete crap.

Uniross have been pony for years. I agree though, Energizers I do use and rate.

I will vouch for the energizers as well. I got the 15 minute charger too. Its quick and painless and cheap. But 2700 mAh? Those look really cool. If you get them let us know how well they work.

Energizer 2500s here. I've been meaning to do a real test, probably when Benchmark2x comes out with a new version, but they seem to last around 5 hours with the nice 5hr trickle charger I have.

seen as were all showing off 8 x 2800 Profitexx with a 2 hour charger. I never run out of power now. Only recently got them though and they are good from ebay (user budpak -recommend) . Can now watch a whole film without swapping batteries -nice. 2800/2700 is the way to go as the gp2x is power hungry (you probably know that). I had 4x 1300 uniross and could only just finish a film between all of them + a 8 hour charge was not acceptable. Try to get a quick charger if you can !!

have a look at this, this is what I got exactly from the user budpak

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ultra-Fast-30min-Bat...1QQcmdZViewItem

cut and paste if you have to or just search : 2800 mah AA

Also check out his website

4 x 2800 batterys for like £4 odd

and I can tell you they are good and this website is reliable

I guess I got lucky on the Uniross then..? The Energizer ones are 1300 and were the cheapest one in the shop (£8) while the Uniross ones are 2300 and were £15 odd.
