I just got my GP2X, but it is coming apart! Do you guys have 4 screw holes in the back of the unit? Can you see the screws (heads)? All 4 of mine are empty and the back of the unit is pulling away. Anyone happen to know the length of them so I can try to buy some?

Thanks,
Larry

HAHA that's hilarious! I can see the screw head if you get some light down that hole. What distributor did you get your gp2x at? I havn't taken mine apart so the other guys can tell you how long they are.

While I would add to the laughter I will try to help.

You have one of two choices.

1. You could send it back to where it came from.
2. You could go find some small screws and put them in there.

bit judgemental...just remember the work conditions / payrate in poor countries....

i imagine the assembly staff are getting a *pathetic* wage, lucky if they were getting 1% of the gp2x retail value...

Maybe your distributor took the screws off to do something and left them off?

I bought it from play-asia. Since I'm missing all four, can one of you remove a screw and measure the length? I don't want to use something too long and risk it going through the board or something.

The unit was sealed so it was done at the factory. This is definitely a first for me. It is a pretty cheap device, but as long as it works I don't care.

Well, you're being a lot more mature about this than a lot of the newer people on this board would have been. I applaud you.

Thanks! I'm new to the board, but I'm getting to be an old gamer.

The screws appear to be 2mm diameter x 8mm long (not including the head).

the screws are aprx. 8mm long (without the head) and have a diameter of 1mm (they are 1mm wide :D )

EDIT: well, it seems as if DZZ agrees with me in the length of the screws. But I am pretty sure they have a diameter of 1mm. But I screwed it back in already

I'll try to find both sizes. Thanks for checking, I appreciate it.

I'm sorry but there is no way they are 1mm! 2mm is small enough!

have you checked? I sat down with a ruler and the screw, I measured the screw ;)
Oh, don't mind spam, he does that from time to time.

Ya. well from the looks of them they looked 2mm when I last saw them. 1mm seems pretty insanely small.
I think you might have a problem where you think tiny little things are twice as big as they actually are ;) :D
