Z has an interesting way of doing things, and we may actually end up with something like that, instead of resources, we'll have to see what works best for a handheld :)

Cuspflowers - Random Flora

Collected in a large amount, the Cuspflowers grow often between the mountains and the grasslands. When ground up in a processing plant, they can produce a powder called "Fourfuel" that is mixable with fuel to almost quadruple vehicular mileage and efficiency. Also a potent narcotic, it's highly coveted by various mobster gangs, and will often be harvested for street drug, called "Whiz". Many times a Fourfuel refinery has been raided by high-rolling Syndicates for the precious product.

This is a bit of a bump, but I just have to say how much I like the idea of a war fought over flowers. :D

Anyway I was just reading through the thread because I missed most of it and was wodering what became of it. Seems like you guys managed quite a bit, keep up the good work.

Also since I bumped it I might as well ask how it's comming along: How's it going guys?

We all died in a freak explosion that simultaneously killed us all and erased all our hard drives. I'm using my dying muscle spasms to type this out... Sorry... ggagskdasgdkjg...

Seriously, though, we're working on it. Wite Noiz has worked on the eMag reader a lot, which has had the effect of severely improving the framework for Platoons.

Oh yeah, and I think we've finally decided to call it Platoons.

I'm just guessing, but I wouldn't be surprised to see this end up as an entry for the community game competition, so keeping that timeframe in mind should probably temper expectations.

Sounds great, good luck have fun and all that.

Now on to the real issue, will Platoons contain flowers to die for? ;)

Tis true. I'm definitely looking to have a reasonably polished game by the competition (11th Dec, isn't it?), and I'm sure Vynx is too ;)

As Magnulus said, I've been working primarily on the eMag Reader for the past week - which started as a direct copy of the Platoons code.
I've improved the game engine considerably from that work, which will directly improve the Platoons code - two birds, one singleton and what-not.

The first eMag Reader /may/ be out later this week, but it won't contain all the functionality that will make it useful. It'll be a slightly improved image viewer to start with.
