I'm having a bit of trouble with the latest version of Little John which I just downloaded. (0.4) All the games I try on it seem to run a little more slowly then they did in the last version. I tried several things including changing the frame skip and even turning the sound off. The batteries are pretty new and other non-LJ games seem to work fine, What am I missing?

Hi,

i think it depends on what games you are trying to run, though with the speed it currently is there shouldnt be a problem. I have only tried mario bros 3 on mine and it runs fine no slowness what-so-ever, tell me what roms you are trying to play on it & if others are slower than most then its obviously just an emulator problem at the moment.

Let's see I've tried SMB3, Tengen Tetris, Lolo 3, River City Ransom and Impossible Mission II. All seem to run about 20% slower than they did before. Maybe I should just go back to Version 0.3 for a while?

well i dont know how to solve your problem but i've been playing kid icarus, ff2, tmnt4, splatterhouse zelda 2 and many othjers and all have run perfect with sound and all.

mabe there's a problem with your roms.

By the way i forgot to add that i havent changed any of the settings that LJ started with.

Well, I put version 0.3 back on my SM card (just to make sure I wasn't imagining things), and sure enough, it's at least 20% faster then 0.4. Guess I'm sticking with version 0.3 of the best GP32 emulator out there.

It's probbably some more accurate rendering feature in 0.4 that makes it a bit slower, and you should be able to turn it off...

something like that, i have only tried v0.4 so i was just suggesting. Cant notice any slow down though but if you have been on the other version and you say its faster then i take your word for it.

you can always hope the next version will be faster which it should :)

I had the exact problem. Sure, it runs at 0 frameskip but when I was using it to play some NES games I noticed it was a tad slower, not only in speed but tempo of the music (i mainly noticed this in SMB3 World 1 map with it's music). I think I'll go back to 0.3 myself, 0.4 wasnt that much of an essential nor significant update to me ;)

You should try to delete the "ljgp32.ini" file in "gp:\gpetc" directory.
It seems to fix the issue for some people. I'll check this and do a bugfix if
needed in ljgp32 0.5 .

Nope.. didnt work. I then installed 0.3 and it was back to full speed again, and tried 0.4 once more and it was slightly slower :( Guess I'll stick to 0.3 for now

Hi YoYo,

First of all, thanks for your work on this great emulator! I will try your suggestion tonight and see if I have better luck than GP32 Kirby did.

Is that SMB3 graphic error fixed where the left side of the screen has a blue bar in some levels?
