Add this to the every-growing wishlist....

Warcraft II, I loved this game on my old 486 many moons ago and it'd be great to have a portable version (especially if it ran the expansion pack which I never got round to completing!)

Would this port be possible...?

To port a game you need to either
A) have the sourcecode
B) port the entire machine it was coded for

No Sourcecode, so your only chance is DOSBox, which I doubt will run this.

Boo-hoo... I doubt Blizzard are going to let the WC2 Source Code become available :(

Seeing as the game is still available to buy (I picked up the Battlenet version off Amazon today as I've lost my old copy)

Pardon my ignorance (n00b GP user) but do you have any links for DOSBox?

I've just had a look over at http://www.freecraft.org and that looks pretty damn good...

-Actually I played warcraft 3 hardcore most nights until the gp32 arrived - it has torn me away--

Oh the days of Tower Defence in warcraft 3 -- I got to the stage where it got too easy beating opponents - I then realised I had become a warcraft 3 geekazoid and lured myself aware----

But then again mouse based games like warcraft would be difficult to program a reasonable control method - I personally would hate having to move the cursor precisely on the unit........AND

it runs in 640x480

Slight problem there---

Some good points there - especially re: control system as WC2 was awful on the Playstation pad :|

Anyho, I downloaded FreeCraft and it looks like I can run WC2 on my Powerbook with Mac OsX so I now have a portable (allbeit bigger) version of the Craft :D
