I seem to have knackered button A, after a heavy session on Turrican it went floppy - doesn't click in anymore. It still works but is very unresponsive. I've opened up the unit (for the first time) and found the rubber pad has broken - the bit that goes into the button face has come off.

I used superglue very sparingly to see if it sticks back on (waiting for it to dry atm) but don't fancy my chances much...

Anywhere I can get a replacement rubber thing from?

My B button crapped out after a marathon Armalyte session on Frodo

Sounds like a similar problem - it works, but not very well. I've resisted the temptation to open her up, but if there's an easy fix, well I might just have to dissect her

if any one works out a fix please post back as ive got the exact same problem....cheers

yep thats exactly what I'm talking about... but it's a totally different shape rubber in a gp32. you could probably get a scalpel and reform it if it's the right size - bit tricky I imagine...

Well I've put it back together and it was fine the first few clicks then the glue broke and now the button is just stuck down - still works but not very responsive :(

I'm wondering if I put a layer of glue around the main rubber so's it makes a smaller hole that the button can't "fall through" it - kinda like a washer...

There was a guide released a while back that gave a picture by picture route to replacing the pads. In fact I used it on my A button when it gave out after 6 months on my old GP. Basically, find a gamepad, cut a bit out of it, slice the GP32 pad into a piece (so there's room inside the thing), and glue the "stick" (you know that bit I mean?) to the gamepad pad. Then just sticking it inside and hoping...

You don't get the same clickey feel the original had, but the button will work, and it will have SOME clickeyness (if not as much as you might want)

I remember when I did it I had to also change the height of the metal bit inside the replacement pad - some glue and a replacement does the trick :)

I have a big bag of those i'll put them on my website.

If you bought the GP32 from me you can have a replacement for free.

wahey! cheers craig, thats brightened up my day no end- I sent an email to orders@cdworld.co.uk asking so I guess you can ignore.

Unfortunately I didn't research properly before I bought my gp32 and ended up waiting ages to get it from lik-sang,

But 3 of my mates bought gp32's from you on my recommendation ;)

I'll gladly pay for one, just show me where to sign

Thanks for all your help guys

Is there an HTML version of that tutorial? I'm using the pdf -> html utility on adobe's website, but the pictures don't show up that way.

If anyone wants them, the fire button membrane (the broken bitty) is now available from www.gbax.com - Craig, if you read this - thanks a lot & sorry for hassling you on email! This is the longest I've been without the gp32 and I've had some extra time on my hands...

Drag: Use Adobe Acrobat to read the pdf file, don't know why you'd want to convert it..

Gotta love craig :D I can see myself buying a few replacement parts to keep my ol' GP32 up and running in the future.

you could check one of the guides that are mentioned in this thread - as long as you use a quality rubber it will probably be more responsive

hehe... I've sent u pm's and email - whatsup with that? anyways - mail me on frolikATgezpageDOTcom

the symbols have been changed to protect the innocent
