Does Any Gp32 Mp3 Player

What would be the point. :blink:
I`ve just tried compressing two mp3 files, This is what i found.

Music1.mp3 = 9,052,912 bytes Music1.zip = 8,908,757 bytes Saving 144,155 bytes.

Music2.mp3 = 2,093,760 bytes Music2.zip = 2,081,527 bytes Saving 12,233 bytes.

Hardly worth the trouble, Even with a lot of mp3`s on the SMC. :rolleyes:

oops, i thought i compressed a whole cd, and it was only 4 songs so i thought it made it a lot smaller. ah well, im just trying to find something smaller then mp3.

You can, It`s called ogg vorbis, Similar to mp3, Sound quality is excellent and file size is a lot smaller. Oh, And there is a player for the GP32, Its on this site, I think.

yogg. just got it, I'm hoping this mp3 to ogg converter worked good. it compressed it almost in half.

yogg wont work, click a song and it just blinks. anything else i need for it to work?

What bitrate are you converting then to, 64kbps, 48kbps. ???
What software are you using to convert then to ogg format. ???
Try dBpowerAMP, Do a google search.

just tried it. this file type is awsome. can i change the frequency, or will that just fuck it up?? I want max compression for this.

48 kbps is probably the lowest bitrate (smallest file size) i would suggest and still sound good.

EDIT: The end results all depend on the quality and bitrate of the original mp3 file. So the higher the bitrate of the mp3 (192kbps, 256kbps etc), The better the ogg file will sound.

i know that. in poweramp their is something to change the freq. does the gp32 have a set freq. or am i free to change this also?

No, There is no option to change the frequency on the GP32 side. But then why would you want to. ???

EDIT: There is no set frequency on the GP32, You have to try and see what will work and what will not. If there is a limitation, Its probably down to the player and not the GP32.
