Does anybody know he bitrate that mp3's play best on using the GP32 mp3 player.
Does it have to be low.
Is there a better mp3 Player that does not worry about the bitrate

Yeah, i tried 64kbit and it played too fast, 128kbit worked fine. Anyone tried VBR/ABR ?
I cant fit enough music into a 128mb SMC @ 128kbit, so im waiting for the vorbis player to mature a bit :)

ripped and tried it now :)

(CBR)
320kbit 44khz - plays fine
128kbit 48khz - plays slomo :D
128kbit 44khz - plays fine
128kbit 32khz - plays VERY fast
96kbit 44khz - plays fine

edit:

(VBR)
32kbit min 320kbps max 44khz - plays fine, though the gp32 isn´t displaying how long the song and is sayin it is 0khz.

Nara, thanks.

So it looks like it can handle any bitrate - it's the frequency that matters. As for the VBR reporing 0KHz, I've also got the same thing with normal MP3s. A few of them show up as 8.3 filenames w/o ID3 tags, song lengths, and with a frequency of zero ... they still play.
