    A Question of Legality...

LOL, surely it SHOULD be a criminal offence to reproduce an Oasis CD, even if they legalised copying and abolished copyright, you can`t have things like that being reproduced, somebody might accidentally be exposed to it and spend the rest of their life jiggling to inane lift music hobbyman

    Using Mobile internet

 you don`t need to look into it, as I just said, support for E220 modems (and a load of other usb modems) are now built in to the Linux kernel by default, no need for drivers, nothing, just wvdial to send the modem the correct control strings, I guess the only reason you WOULD need to do...

Hopefully dumb question about defective units.

yeah, IIRC Craig has always tested GP2X`s or whatever before he sends em, I recall him posting a year or so back about working late the eve of the last posting day before christmas testing units before they sent em out to arrive in time for the day, he seems a sound enough guy (and Ive been...

    How much longer?

will the old forum be offline?, I mean, it`s been down 5 or 6 days now, if it`s people trying to connect to the old forum then why are they still trying to connect (since you can`t), or is it the server actually leaked its magic smoke? (note for none techy people....magic smoke is what powers...

    Using Mobile internet

:D No NO NO!! ........ thats the hard way :P I`m on Ubuntu and I`m connected to the net right now via a "3" Huwaei E220 usb 3G/HSDPA modem it`s easy as chips, all you need is Wvdial, the modem acts as a dialup modem via Wvdial, the E220 is supported in the kernel, no drivers or uber...

    Roguelikes?

Umm! I havent done any cross compiling before or strayed out of the system space of my current desktop before, but if any of those games are in the Debian/Ubuntu ARM repository then surely they will "just work"(tm), or am I missing something, I should have thought opening a basic window and...

Release blender 3d app and winuae

plus you can plug Pandora into your living room tv, fire up Blender and play about making models and levels for games :D blender should be ok on the Pandora, I used to spend a lot of time using Real3D on the Amiga, the Amiga didn`t have the resolution of the Pandora OR the CPU speed OR the...

Are you going to develop/port for the pandora?

I use none lossy bitmap formats like .bmp, but svg is ok, you can just save the images out as a bitmap or raw file to use in your games, the main problem for coders is actually getting good and consistent artwork, there's as much work (if not more) in the game art than the engine to be honest...

Are you going to develop/port for the pandora?

I will make some games for the Pandora, but they may suffer from "codergraphicitus" (total inability of this coder to draw ANY form of image that's recognisable as what it actually is meant to be  ) Hobbyman

Release blender 3d app and winuae

Blender was already mentioned in the old forum, I think it`s pretty certain it will get ported now as to winuae, theres no way they will port WINuae, cos it`s a Linux os, not a Micro$oft one (the WIN prefix means windows), but they already ported UAE to the Pandora (and it runs full speed) so...

AH! there you are my leetle chickens

blimey! slashdotted AND subjected to a pre-order feeding frenzy at the same time, I bet Craigix is still spraying pine airfreshener around the office to get rid of the smell of burning servers, awesome, I`m gonna have to wait `till March for my Pandora, no matter, it all comes to those who watch...

    Some Good Linux Games.

warzone 2100 homeworld total annihilation doom gl quake would be nice, after all they where commercial games and have plenty of content (plus some have level editors so "sequels" could be made) :D

Blimey! Brilliant Idea Hits Me On Head!

MY point exactly dear boy, Pandora power, power to work, power to use and power to play (to paraphrase a certain manufacturer) that would make it the PPPPPC, ultra green low power low cost desktop system, silent video/media server for the lounge, stick a 1TB usb hd on it and you could leave it...

Blimey! Brilliant Idea Hits Me On Head!

note to self...click on suggested link DUH! but its STILL a good idea IMO, it would be somewhat like an Amiga with OpenGL goodness, all we need now is Pan-Amos and I`d be rocking (Yeah! I`m a BASIC fanboy), you can keep your Include <stdio.h>,main(null){prinf "hello world";} rubbish :-) ...

Blimey! Brilliant Idea Hits Me On Head!

oh! all right! I stand corrected, I STILL think its a good idea though, more is better, right? BTW I thought Craigix was using the TI chipset purely cos someone from TI floated into the forums and offered it, derailing the development of Pandora, so if Pandora ended using the OMAP by some...

Blimey! Brilliant Idea Hits Me On Head!

PFFFT! inferior low power toy, take it away :-p I hadn`t heard about this "Beagle" but the Pandora has a 3d chipset and high performance, afaik (after a quick check) the Beagle isn`t in the same league, and its more a hacks toy, this would be finished product that can call on the Pandora...

Blimey! Brilliant Idea Hits Me On Head!

if Craigix removed the screen, keyboard, controls and battery off the Pandora, stuck the remaining gubbins into a desktop keyboard case alongside a small usb HD, added ports to the back of the keyboard for power, usb, screen etc and "BINGO", you have got something like the proposed ASUS desktop...
