It really is a thing of beauty.
Trust me, the long wait has only made actually holding it in your hands a truly wonderful experience.
Big thanks to the whole team.
Indeed, and I have just discovered that the actual ROM is 256k, but if you have a 256k file like I did, you can just cat it twice to make a 512k ROM and that works! It seems that 512k dumps from the machine just have the 256k image twice in the address space - weird but it actually seems to work.
Surely anyone who just wanted to order some gadget or other should have bought a product that was already for sale. I would like to think that those of us who pre-ordered a device that wasn't even close to production knew that we were taking some risk and helping to fund a fantastic little...

Surely the flurry of posts and wild guesses are half the fun - I know I have enjoyed being online today. You could always refrain from reading the forum posts and just check the blog for old and stale (confirmed) news... :-)
This is the first time I have ever purchased a device that does not exist (quite) yet. It is so exciting, and also amazing that so many others have enough faith or interest to invest in this first batch. I have been an early adopter of technology before, but this is by far the earliest I have...
