Day of the Pandora is approaching.

Actually: Without Craig, the pandora would never have existed, because ED would never have ventured into doing something like that. It was Craigs original enthusiasm and simplification that pulled ED into this. So yes, thanks to *Craig* ED is starting the pyra! :-). (Its the near death...

Classic, non-upgraded preorders / Current status page?

Hmmmm, I thought Bavaria is a dutch beer. Actually, I think they make the best tasting beer without alcohol.

Pandora freezes while accessing sdcard or usb flash drive.

Hmmm, i hate the scoring system of that compatability list. There is none. Something like wine-app-db would be nice. Anyway: I do not rely on that list. The transcend report is a year old, and things have changed since. But the problem with that list is that you cannot determine how correct...

Pandora freezes while accessing sdcard or usb flash drive.

Actually I use transcend 32GB SDHC cards. Since "those bugs were "fixed" in the kernel I haven't seen issues with any sd-cards, except for not being able to physically insert or remove them. I even used the pandora with the cards as a USB stick to upgrade my sat-receiver :-). (The pandora...

Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple, has passed away at 56

Actually I think that fvwm already had those features, and openstep (the open variant of nextstep, which is a predecessor of OS-X) did those too. It was not actually a bar, but you could place it as a task bar. So the only novel about that taskbar was it's placement. But yes, I completely...

Scared that my Wifi is not working

I would suggest iwconfig wlan0 power off I noticed that the power save mode waits to long before transmitting, and in the end sends packets twice. It seems like powersave mode is not correctly implemented in this driver. But it does work with wpa2 and such. Only ssh was very "laggy".

    Right Speaker has gone out...

Finally found it... In alsamixer under playback the inputs for the recording source are chosen (so they are under the wrong tab). I cannot find amixer to script it else I would have pasted the right way to record from the microphone.

    Right Speaker has gone out...

Well, yes and no... On the smartq5, I had it working within a day or 2 after getting it, while there still was a debate going on wether or not it had a microphone. I tried on the pandora, but I never got any sane output, so I figured there was no microphone, just a jack, to connect one. But...

    Right Speaker has gone out...

According to the specs it has, but: arecord -D"hw:0,1" -f cd -d 10 xyz.wav never did what it's supposed to do :-(. So how do I use the microphone?

    Right Speaker has gone out...

Wait, what? There is a microphone in the pandora? Where?

Busted Sd Card 2 Slot On Pandora #3...

Exactly my idea, but then reversed. Most of my cards fit, but 2 or three of them just stuck in any slot (if I remember correctly), while they just work in my SmartQ 5. I got the idea the pandora was a bit to tight. And I don't think it was the casing in this case, but the sd-card holder. I...

    Internet Connection Speeds!

Well, actually it's about 34Gb/s. And yes, it's my job, and yes, our internet connection is probably bigger then the ones that were serving the speedtest files. We definitely considered joining the speedtest server cloud, just so we could say that our vp.n.s.sh is bigger than yours ;-).

    opkg upgrades

Oh, yes... apt-get can blow up your system too :-). There are some dependencies in the pandora specific parts, which somehow depend on normal packages, which somehow suck in all available themes for the new xfce. The pandora opkg is not E_NOSPACE proof (I guess this is true for every opkg)...

    opkg upgrades

Actually: openwrt has about the same problems, but then with 1.5MB left for installing. They cache the packagelist in tmpfs, which means you have to opkg update after every reboot, but only if you want to install something. Of course, then there is metadata of installed packages, but as far...

Release Beta Test: Upcoming (HF5) Firmware Image BETA 3

Yo thanks! I was thinking I've bought yet again a bad sd-card. I was rsyncing from slot 1 to slot 2 and then it started getting bad. But no... it was just the driver :-(. (Sometimes I get the idea that people blame the sd-card while the driver might be the cullprit. On my HTC-dream...

Release Beta Test: Upcoming (HF5) Firmware Image BETA 2

Well, it could be the bug with /etc/network/run not being a symlink to a volatile directory. In essence this directory should always be cleaned on bootup, better yet, point to a tmpfs. If the system goes down due to a reset or something like that it refuses to set up lo on reboot because the...

    Wi-Fi problems \ Nubs\

Well, chrome has not worked for me, it triggers lock up bugs ;-). The lates chrome-dev however works like a charm, and firefox 3.6 and 4.0 beta work. If you have the xfce GUI the pandora button will pop up a task killer. Most of the times (I mean: everytime when you need it), it will pop up...
