Hi, sorry for not responding for several days; I've found that my dayjob and schoolwork seem to be conspiring to strangle this project (again...thank God summer's coming).
It's a placeholder, ripped from an unfinished GP2X project. It was mostly there to see whether Allegro could play .FLI...
I was a little uncomfortable about posting something so obviously unfinished to the repo; I think I did this before with this game and it was frowned upon, so it'll probably live here until it's had time to mature some.
Progress might be slow with exams coming up...
I'm not sure how people feel about thread necromancy, but seeing as I'm resurrecting a project here, maybe it's permissible?
I finally picked this back up again, and I have something playable enough to be posted as a demo, so here you go: http://illegal-instruction.org/games/emily-prealpha.pnd...
Update submitted; there should be nub support now.
I hate to ask a potentially ridiculous question here, but can someone more knowledgeable than me try out the updated version and tell me why the preview image doesn't display? Or is .png not supported, or what...?
@ekianjo - there's only one...
Hi all,
Sorry for the delay on nub support - the Real World got in the way, as it often does. I'm compiling a changed version right now; once it passes a few gameplay checks, I'll resubmit it to the repo.
The source code is posted, please see http://illegal-instruction.org/games/various-burst/index.html for details.
For my part, I will try to finish nub support this weekend.
Hi all.
@magic_sam The sole point of shooting at enemies is to clear your path. I may make each shot spend 1% of your health, but I haven't decided yet - it'll need some playtesting.
Nub support and Compo4All integration are coming (the latter may have to wait until exams are over, but it is...
This shouldn't be considered as an entry, because it's a port, but I have just added a little madness of my own to this thing: http://repo.openpandora.org/?page=detail&app=spcbaradv_konatachan_0019940FAA55 .
Enjoy.
That's an important contribution, too - no one makes software in a vacuum, you know. ;)
On the topic of making software, I finally have working enemies:

@Erico: that looks gorgeous.
Got a project underway? Ready to show off screenshots? Post 'em here!
I'll go first:
I had started working on a platformer with multidirectional gravity about 20 months ago, but Real Life got in the way and temporarily halted development. Well, development has now been unhalted:
I can't...
