    Release Barrier

@RDF300: Interesting, I wasn't aware of input leap. I will keep that in mind! By now, it looks like barrier is much more well-known, and is supported by a ton of linux distros, but it might be indicated to switch at some point.

    Release Barrier

Here is Barrier, which is often described as "virtual KVM-switch" although that is not entirely correct (it misses the video part, as it only let you share keyboard and mouse) Barrier will let you use your keyboard and mouse from one computer to control one or more other computers. You can...

Should I have received my final order eMail already?

That's why I said "technically expired", as it could be that the shop software does not accept the key anymore. Of course this would not mean that the voucher is lost, I was just searching for a reason. But as mentioned, due to the error message, this is not that much likely anyway.

Should I have received my final order eMail already?

I can confirm this issue. It says that the vouchers could not be combined. I thought about trying it the other way around (first normal vouchers, then the pyra specific one), but I am hesitant to click at the scary looking trash icon next to "Pyra Pre-Order" on the cart. I wonder if this could...

    pyra screen protectors

ED mentioned in one of his updates, that one of his suppliers (do not remenber of which part though) can also make screen protectors, and so he was thinking about offering those in his shop. About the protection topic: The main hope I personally have for screen protectors is not so much about...

    Pyra why ?

I have. About 160mm, compared to about 140 on the pyra. So it has the same issue as the f(x)tec or the Gemini phone. The concept of a small, or midsized smartphone seems to be pretty old-fashioned nowadays.

    Pyra why ?

Originally, I was just searching for a phone with keyboard and FOSS support. Back then, the only candidate I knew of was the jolla phone with keyboard attachement (wich sadly had availability issues). Back then, I was vaguely aware of the Pandora, although I did not really see the point of it...

Should I have received my final order eMail already?

General rule: - If you ordered in October 2015 this is pre-preorder. You should find out your number by looking at the signed prototype pcb you got. ED will mention in the starting post by number when you should have received a Mail and can do a regular order. - If you ordered at, or after May...

My first impressions of the Pyra

could also be, don't know the exactly meaning, but I guess DragonBox Pyra is slightly easier to memorize, at least as long as there are no other DragonBox Products using it.

Like I said, it could be that you have mistaken it for Audacious, which is a music player.

My first impressions of the Pyra

Are you sure you used audacity for that? Audacity is a sound editor, could it be you meant Audacious instead? Otherwise, vlc can also play sid files

Lets start making the helper gadgets

I did not talk about a keybinding, I talked about gui elements. And I still see no need of being rude (like implying that persons who prefer a command line won't be sane) But why can't those code examples be seen as a step in the process to make such buttons? Person A: I would like to have...

Lets start making the helper gadgets

elw3, Why so agressive? You did not even mention in your original post that you explicitly want no code solutions (wich is strange wording anyway, as every applet will ultimately be code). And it did not even contradict gui solutions, as the mentioned line could easily be bound to a menue app, a...

My first impressions of the Pyra

That's actually a mod I am hoping for since ED decided to scrap his original plan of using a matte touch screen, as it seems to cause some grainyness. Personally I'd prefer graniness over glaring distraction, so a "grain of matte-ness" mod would be welcome. But it would prabably not be too easy...

    Just a quick heads up

Well, I won't consider EDs Artbook twitter thread "no news", as there is an important information in there: The Plan of shipping the first units this year is still the same. Of course, this doesn't say much about how many will get out.

It reminds me of the Pandora!

IIRC that is not possible, as the screen would be too thin, and therefore wiggle in the lid. What would work is using the matte touchscreens that were tested at the beginning, but were considered too grainy by ED. This, as I call it "grain of matte-ness mod", would be a great accessory IMO, as I...

    Raspberry Pi 400 desktop PC

Not a category, I was just referring to the quote, wich talked about "BBC Micros, ZX Spectrums, Commodore Amigas, and the rest" I am ware that the first two were very popular in the UK, mainly I was surprised why they mentioned the Amiga, but not the C64, as it is slightly more iconic IMO. But...

    Raspberry Pi 400 desktop PC

Not sure why they emphasized those models. A bit strange to find the Commodore 64 among "the rest" Did they mention that they were specifically inspired by those? Especially ZX81 sounds unlikely, as it had a membrane keyboard. I'm pretty glad they did not make such a thing.
