Wouldn't it be awsome to have a game for gp32, that you use 3d glasses with, kind of like for Master System.... wouldn't it :D

i am getting a little tired of the "wouldn't it be cool if... " posts that are starting to take over the board. No offense to meonlyeviler and I'm guilty of partaking in them myself as well, I just notice that it seems to be overflowing a little lately.. but i guess that's due to the relative quietness of the general scene if nothing else. I mean, obviously no one's REALLY going to ever develop 3D glasses that would work on a GP32! For that matter, for a home game console either, that novelty has been dead and buried for years. But you know what? I bought some master system glasses second-hand a bunch of years ago, and like 3 or 4 games.. now, the glasses were absolutely flimsy crap, but the 3D effect was definitely revolutionary and something I've not scene done as well, since (mind you I've never played with a Virtual Boy for longer than 10 seconds and even then, it was monochromatic..) - but yeah, the Master System 3D setup was actually pretty ahead of it's time. How appropriate of Sega, to go out on a limb like that - and you know what, if they went a little further and tried producing a 3D polygon-based game with that technology I bet it would be a pretty sweet effect -- too bad we'll not be seeing such a thing anytime soon, though.

If there were 3D glasses games for the mastersystem, can't we just play those through SMS32 and use the glasses. Or won't they work with the GP32 screen

well overall i think having a forum specifically for this kinda thing is a bad idea u get the odd interesting post but its just a section saying beg for a project here, which is pointless and annoying,

how about just making a list of all the good games that wouldn't be good on the gp32 because obviously any good game thats capable of running on the gp32 and can be used with its controls would be good, don't need anyone to point that out

unless a developer asks for project ideas its just random crap being posted the only reason i think its accepted be because everything is so quiet it helps keep things a little more active

so how about opening a bad ideas and stupid wishes forum and when a dev wants to start a new project he can just run through the list and makes sure he avoids making anything said on that forum it would be just as usefull as this place

you can get master-system style 3d shutter glasses off of ebay for the pc for about 30 quid. never used them myself, but apparently they don't work with normal lcd screens (response time or latency or something) i quite fancy a pair though.
i reckon 3d glasses will re-emerge in the future on consoles :)

BlimeY! Let people have their dreams eh? dont bash people for wishing!

If you dont want to read this sort of stuff... avoid this section of the forum!

Cheers :p

Using the Master System 3D glasses is going to be hard because they were physically connected to the master system.

What you can try is create a pseudo 3d effect with the two color glasses also used in the movies in the 80's. They rely on having a shift bewteen the red and blue I believe. I think some version of Contra used this technique as well.

It wouldn't be to hard to make a "game" for the GP32 that uses this kind on 3D effect just for the novelty value.

I've actually got a pair of shutter glasses for the PC, they are of the brand "E-Dimensional". I got them for £60 I think, about a year ago, from a shop in the UK called The Widescreen Centre.

They're pretty neat, they work with any CRT screen, but as papapopalong said, they don't work with flat screen LCDs, due to the fact the refresh rate is fairly low.
In fact, you need to have the refresh rate at at least 100Hz, 120 preferably, else they hurt your eyes.

They work with any 3d game, though some, if they mix with 2d graphics, can look a bit odd. Great fun however, adds a bit of new life to games you've gotten bored of.

Certainly an interesting effect, it's like going to the Imax to see a 3d film, only on a smaller scale.

Well, that's it, I'll go away now ;)

Devvers don't go here for good ideas so there's no point making another forum to put the bad ideas in. It's all speculation and wishes, that's the point.

good sarcasm gone to waste <_<

a lot of the posts here are put as requests not wishes so u may want to make the point of this section a little clearer, if devs do not come here like u say then theres no place for requests

I don't think the requests are hurting anybody ... any practical "Cool ideas" will get picked up, the rest ignored. What I am saying is that since devvers don't usually scout around for project ideas anyway, keeping some more far-fetched ideas in this board isn't a problem - there aren't any devvers 'hunting through' the forum for inspiration.
