is there anyway a program could be made to set what speed your gp32 runs at. im asking this becuase if you could set your gp32 to say 156mhz then possibly, you could run emu's faster and stuff like that.

its an interesting concept could it be done?

Craigs thinkin about making a program like that. I dont really understand y u would need it tho, as u could just use a program to see if ur gp works at that speed... if it doesnt try it at a later date (gps have been known to work at higher clock speeds sometimes and not at others). The only thing that im worried about is the long term damage to the screen, which a program wouldnt be able to check anyway. Im still not really that bothered about that tho. :D

when i was playing on neogp23 last nite i had it clocked at 156mhz then decided to play some gpvgb instead so i used the inbuilt reset option and the result was that gpvgb ran faster i think that there is a slight fault with the reset option within neogp32 i have seen this before but i cannot remember what program i was using
btw- i am using multifw dunno if this has something to do with it but the last time i had this occur with original fw i had the gp32 intro running more than 2x as fast as normal

Speed can be a matter of perception. GPvGB Test version has a FPS counter - hit R twice to see it in the upper-left corner of the screen.

I just tried your exact method (with original firmware) and didn't get a FPS increase. Note that I am 99% sure you have to load a game before the NeoGP32 will actually set the clock speed (otherwise, 166MHz would freeze for me at the GUI and not the game). I'd be interested to see what your results are.

I know this happened on CastawayGP for a while...

Also, on any other program whch overclocks and doesn;t do a resent of the clock before doing a soft reset....

If it was the clock mr.spiv or darkfader made (I don't remember which) would be run off it. AFAIK they have looked at every sq mm of the GP32 and found out exactly what/why it is there.
