Heyas, so after installing hotfix 4 I decided to get some time in with Anki and try out some community decks. One I've tried uses some audio files and when I run the deck it says mplayer not found or something.

So, is there a version of mplayer I can install? Please note I'm pretty inexperienced with the command line if necessary (among other things concerning Linux in general).

I thought I had, but it couldn't hurt to try again right?

Edit:

That did it, thanks!

As a quick thread hijack whilst its still on the front page...

How do you get the GUI for gnome-mplayer up?

Its not on my desktop or menu so i can only run movies from terminal at the moment.

gnome-mplayer from the terminal will open it up
It should be in the Multimedia menu though. If it's not there, you may want to try reinstalling the community codec pack. Looks like some stuff may have been missed.

Thanks WizardStan. Yes I've tried re-installing many times and still no menu icon or ability to run gnome-mplayer from terminal, even though mplayer runs from terminal. I get no errors when I install the codec pack. Might be time to log something on the bugtracker.
