I've just wangled a nice laptop from the law firm I work at. OK it's not new but it's better than bugger all and they bought me a WiFi Router a couple of weeks ago too.
It's a 2.6 Celeron with 512 mb Ram and an ATI gfx card onboard. Great for a freebie but it runs hot and the battery life is crap. Running at 2.6 Gig it sounds like a bloody Hoover too with the fan running full wack all the time.
I've put NHC on it to underclock when I'm doing basic stuff like surfing, Word and watching AVIs etc but it still runs quite hot due to not being able to undervolt the CPU.
Does anyone know how to undervolt a Celeron®. It doesn't seem supported in RMclock etc. I think it's a chip limitation but though I'd put the question to you guys.
