Assembly?

Now i like my pandora made in the UK...

And i like saving 50 quid...

But what is better?

There's only one way to find out...

I'd much rather pay a little more for higher quality than save a little more and have problems. I learned this the hard way with products I've bought in the past, and it doesn't matter where it's produced. Higher quality is higher quality, whether it be made in China, USA, Japan, Korea, UK, Germany, Malaysia, Taiwan, Mexico, etc.

Also, this is perhaps the most important question I posted "What will happen to China when the rest of the world doesn't have money to buy the goods they are producing? Its just a matter of time. "
Then we exchange sides. The chinese industry outsources it's production into the world, because it's cheaper. But before that we will break even and the cost for the transportation would make locally produced goods cheaper.

The Belgian operators ( they guide the Ships into the Antwerp Port ), had gone on strike ( about 30 people ). End result was, massive amount of ships where unable to leave or enter the port. The reason for the strike? They wanted the bonuses they get, also count for there pension. Please take a note: they are public servants, who earn somewhere between 3500 to 5000€ / month. Average wages in the country, are more around 1000€ / month. Because of there selfishness, it cost the harbor 1 Million Euro / Hour ( for 3 full days ).
Wait, the work of 30 people is worth 1 Million € per Hour? If it is a 3 shift system with 8 hours/day doing 240 hours per month the full team is paid with 625 € per hour. That's a ratio valid to be called enslavement.

They are specialists, if you find a qualified chineese doing this job cheaper, just do it.

Do you know what will be when the bonus is counted for the pension? In germany this would mean that you have to pay some money from your bonus into the pensions fond. This means that those guys were on strike for the right just to PAY more money. They will have less money per month available if they succeeded.

China is buying up huge parts of Africa, and in some cases virtually buying countries, it is assumed by many that this is for them to outsource the work their people will soon not be willing to do.

The British Empire did something very similar.

I used the term Communist as tongue in cheek. Anytime someone goes against the establishment in America, they are called Communists/Socialists.

....

Don't you mean terrorist? Communist / Socialist is so 20th century. ;)

It's a good call though, and rather sad how the great western democracies still need to manufacture a bogey man.

@ Benjiro : some interesting posts there, guess that a lot of what you said makes sense from the perspective of a mass market device. The Pandora is unlikely ever to meet that category. We'll have to wait for Pandora 2 for that :)
