Hi there,

Did someone notice the same problems?

Panplayer and UAE (Amiga Emulator) are working good but after a while (days or even weeks) they stop working. Some movies are showing only a black screen on the LCD display of the Pandora while the sound is working. Same with UAE4All 2.0. It does only show a black screen while it should show the menu screen for selecting the disk images, etc.

The time this happens the Pandora's uptime can be a few days or 2-3 weeks.

If this happens I can only solve this by rebooting the Pandora. OK, this is a solution, but I would prefere to keep the Pandora running, since it's mainly used as PIM.

Is there a driver which can be unloaded, and loaded again? I tried rmmod omapfb and pvrsrvkm but to no avail.

I have a ReBirth model, 800 MHz, SuperZaxxon 1.55, Kernel 3.2.45.

PanPlayer and UAE4All are the latest from repo.openpandora.org.

Thanks for any help

Johannes

Have you realy used PanPlayer2????

http://repo.openpandora.org/?page=detail&app=PanPlayer2

or the normal PanPlayer????

http://repo.openpandora.org/?page=detail&app=PanPlayer

Black Screens in Panplayer are normal with some Videos,

but nearly all should be no Problem for PanPlayer2(the mixed Version) ;)

Hmm never heardbut here a few posibilitys:

-Have you maybe activated TV OUT?

Maybe it cross with the Games or Display.

---------------------------------------------------------

- can you try that the Error is after a specific Game?

Maybe one Game PND work not right and after this work SDL not more correctly.

---------------------------------------------------------

maybe your Screen Blanking is on,

here the Way to Disable it:

-press Pandora Button in XCFE

-go to Settings/LCD Settings

-go to enable/disable Screen Blanking

and disable it :)

should work and never more black Screen,i disable it ever ^_^

Please Report that it work or not ;)

Thanks for your informations,

I didn't know about PanPlayer2 until now. I installed it. Works fine but to be sure I have to wait for the black screen to appear. This can take several weeks. I keep you informed.

I don't think the format is the problem. The same video which works fine goes black when the bug appears.

I did use the TV-out but always turned it off after use. The bug appeared a few days after a reboot and I didn't use TV-out in this time. It's per default alway off.

The screen saver isn't the problem. I am sure, because the black screen comes right after starting the video/UAE. Regardless whether I turn it off or on (xset b off/60 s/default) or if I press any key/button.

I'll keep trying to reproduce it, but it can last quite long until it re-appeares.

Bye

Johannes

I hope i helped you,but when you have that Bug again,

please renember your last running PNDs or maybe its a Standby fault.

Very few Times when you get the Pandora out of Standby can maybe someting not restart right.

But its very very rare.

to solve this, open Mousepad with sudo

sudo mousepad

and open the File /etc/pandora/conf/cpu.conf

and set the min MHZ Setting 50 MHZ higher.

Sometimes are the Minimal MHZ in Standby little bit too low.

Maybe this is your Solution ;)
