Hi,

I found my very old gp2x f100 and tried updating the firmware from 1.4 to 4.0.0. This went wrong. I tried a lot but I am not able to fix it :(

Since the thing was broken anyway I cut open the video to television cable to create a serial connection. This is the output of the device:

Can anyone tell me what to do?

Thanks!

Check out this guide by DJWillis (scroll down to "Original Guide"). Good luck, and remember to use a proper PSU, not batteries.

Thanks I had found that manual already. In fact I already fixed it, but was unable to do anything with the thread until it was moderated. Apparently I have to press select and start at the same time to do a firmware update. That was missing in almost all tutorials.

I did not have a PSU, but it worked fine with batteries.
