I don't know why, but I did not found any information about emulate this two sistems.

I know I must miss something because I can't believe pandora does not emulate both.

Is this a subset of mame roms? I have no luck trying to run my CPS1 and 2 Roms on Mame4all

Any info please?

cps1-2 are capcoms arcade system boards basically the same as neogeo to play these your best bet is as crow riot said fba or panmame

Thanks to both. I checked FBA in the repo few times, but because the lack of information about it I never instaled it.

I'll give it a try

Thanks.

Also make sure you have the neogeo.zip bios if you want to play any neogeo games in the rom folder

Yes. and with FBA, you can set your settings to show all possible games...or only games you have installed...so that you don't have to scroll thru a list of 5,500 games to find the sixty or so you have installed!!

Ok

I'm going crazy with this mess of roms.

So, any mame emulator can run CPS1 and CPS2, MAME and NEOGEO (with the proper bios) ?

There are many mame emulators, and I don't know what should I use.

Could some body clarify this mess?

Thank you very very much.

for CPS1,CPS2 and CPS3 go for FBA. for Neo-geo games I personally prefer Gngeo.Use Mame4all for classic mame games.for newer mame games you can use Panmame.

Thank you.

I tried CPS1 and worked (at least for Cadillac s & dinosaurs), but the roms are yellow. I read the description but I don't understand the terms.

How new? May Tekken tag work?

Hmmm, we all wished that. but the pandora is not capable of running that kind of game, on mame4all think 1979-1994 games. on Panmame I would think 1992-1997 games. I may be wrong.

you can check some panmame games that work here:

Thanks again.

I edited my last response while you were posting.

May somebody add just that information to the FB description in repo. It's pretty useless without it.

I think yellow means nothing in this version of FBA, all my games are yellow and work.

@danielo515

You need FBA 0.2.97.24 compatible ROMs. The correct ROMs (file size + CRC) can be found in the corresponding .dat file, which is available here...

http://boards.openpandora.org/index.php?/topic/6543-final-burn-alpha-ported-to-pandora-faq-in-first-post/page__st__540#entry136477

This .dat file can be used with clrmamepro to scan your ROMs and build a new set, see here...

http://boards.openpandora.org/index.php?/topic/6285-gngeo-issues-too-many-to-list-all/#entry144071

Or you can check your ROM manually (if you won't bother with clrmamepro). Here's an explanation for a PanMAME Neo Geo ROM, but it's the same principle for FBA...

If you want to setup GnGeo, here's a list of working games and the .dat file...

I know, all this stuff is not easy to digest. But once you know how to create your own sets, no more frustration with incompatible ROMs. :)

You're right, this is hard to digest.

Ok, first of all, thanks for your help.

Where should I put that .dat file? I understood it is used by FBA. Does FBA use this file to check my roms and check their real name, if it is properly formated ETC? May I'n wrong, because you mention some rom manager software (clrmamepro)

is GnGeo other emulator?

But the hardest part is to "get FBA 0.2.97.24 compatible ROMs"

I can't even figure which mame version the ROMS are, and it doesn't look like there is a centralized list.

The problem is you link to threads which are heavily contextualized, and I fell missed.

Is there any easy way to take all my mame roms, put it into clrmamepro, put a .dat file togheter an get a full romset compatible with FBA? I mean, just the games wich could be played.

Thank you very much again, really.

Im a noob here. Not an excuse, but a reality.

Everybody starts as a noob. You just need a starting point. :)

Let's start with FBA. You can find the "centralized list" of games in the .dat file...

Just open the .dat file with a text editor and you will see blocks of lines for every ROM. Compare this information with your .zip file opened in 7-Zip.

This is described here...

Or you can check your ROM manually (if you won't bother with clrmamepro). Here's an explanation for a PanMAME Neo Geo ROM, but it's the same principle for FBA...

This is how you verify, whether you have the correct ROM or not. Just do it for one or two .zip files, in order to understand the content of a .dat file. It really looks more difficult than it is.

Now, what does the ROM manager? More or less the same. It reads the information from the .dat file and tries to find the corresponding files in your ROM directory. It compares the CRCs of the files, which is something like a fingerprint.

For FBA and GnGeo, look for a recent MAME set.

Tell ya what. I was a complete idiot with clrmamepro, too. and now I use it no problem.

If you need help with clrmamepro, ask me. I'll try to help you out.

If you live in the States I might even be able to talk you through it on the phone.
