Do emulators run better on Linux?

I run lots of emulator. And have used them on phones, and my pc. In terms of accuracy, for such a low powered device it performs so well!! Does anyone know why?
 
Its not the fact that the OS is Linux-based but that it is highly optimized for the system its on. Same goes for the software. The reason you may see this as a commonality with Linux is that developers of most Linux distros work hard to optimize the software and firmware

Yup. Its very hard to make software run efficiently when you don't know exactly what hardware its going to be running on.
