right im busy looking through the doxbox source code, and it says somewhere that so long as youve got a sdl library you can compile it for your system.

also im thinking because it would be on gp you can obviously remove quite alot of code, as you dont need cd rom checking etc.

also removing the command promt with a front end of some sort for easy loading.

does this mean then that this could be ported quite easily or would it still require alot of renaming of source code and hard work to make it run.

Im mainly questioning this as i wouldnt mind playing settlers on my gp32 sometime in the future.

you may be able to tell im not really a coder from my next question:

but if this turns out to be easyish to port, couldnt you take the interface from somthing like caSTaway (then joystick, mouse etc will already exist) and implant the dosbox code ?

i searched for dos emulators but that page / result didnt come up, otherwise i wouldnt have posted.

oops.

Porting qemu you could probably get a decent speed. Would be easiest on top of the Linux port with the 32MB upgrade...

Probably not worth the effort though.

i think a native-running app without the need of linux may run faster,
but the port could be done easier, tho

speed or ease to port?
