Does anyone know if the 16 gig cards work with this patch?
Interesting question :D

Waiting for an answer :)

They should work fine. If you can get one. They were $1800 last time i checked, but that was for devs.
Ouch :D !

Yes, but now the cards are a little bit cheaper...

Look here.

re: Toshiba 4 GB SDHC Memory Card (Class 4)

Thanks for the feedback. It was the only SDHC card i could find at shops here, and i tried before buying considering your warning and yeap it didnot work.

I bought a OCZ SDHC 4gb class-6 card on internet and waiting for its arrival now. I'll post here the result.

Test result: Yes, OCZ SDHC 4gb class-6 card worked, and actually it worked very well. :)

Hey Guys,

I just bought a PNY 8GB Class 4 card, and am seeing the same issue that others had posted earlier, after upgrading to the patched kernel:

It works fine with on the 2.6.23 kernel in my ~2 year old laptop. If there's anymore debugging output etc that I can provide, just drop me the instructions.

Newegg has a class 6 Patriot 16gb SD card for $139 US at the moment:

Patriot 16gb SDHC card at Newegg

I've been using a non-sdhc Patriot 4gb card for over a year with no issues with storage or firmware flashing, so hopefully this card will work as well.

My 16 Gb sdhc card from Newegg came in today and it does work. I ran a few videos off it and they ran fine, no stuttering. Windows reports the card having 15.3 Gb instead of the usual 15.1 Gb. I only paid 139 for it.

I used the guide (excellent guide by the way :D )and installed the sdhc support on my F100 MK2 with a Patriot 16 gb Class 6 sdhc card and it's working like a champ, excellent speed even with some of the more troublesome neo geo roms. I've experienced no appreciable difference in performance from my Trancend 150x 4gb sd. My computer running Windows XP SP2 reads the card as 15.3 gb using a Sandisk Micromate SDHC card reader.

However, I tried reinstalling Gmenu2X and it will not automatically boot into Gmenu2x using autorun.gpu.

I checked the system settings in utilities and Autorun was enabled. I tried turning autorun off and back on again (rebooting each time) to see if it would "jog" it; but no go.

I'm used to fw 2.0.1 (never had any real compelling reason to upgrade before, so it may be a lack of knowledge concerning FW 2.1+)

Has anyone else experienced this when upgrading to the new kernal?

Like I said other than this one "autorun.gpu "glitch the card is working flawlessly on all emus and games/utilities on the card. But with this much space to play with, Gmenu2x would be a boon; plus the default gp2x interface colours are making me nauseous. :p . Also, there seems to be no skins folder in the nand to change this, so I'm at a loss.

Thanx, in advance for any insight!

Hi,

One question to be sure:

Once notaz firmware is installed the release should be 2.1.2 instead of 2.1.1 on green screen?

Bye

Herc.

The notaz release shows 2.1.2 at the kernel bootscreen.

Stephan

Hi,

Just bought an SDHC transcend 4gb Class 6 and it worked great,

Thx you all

Bye

Tried this on an F100 MK2 model with my 8GB Kingston SDHC. Did NOT work...

Hi,

Does anybody has problem to launch Gngeo2x large roms after NoTaz sdhc patch for F100?

Thx

Bye

Herc.

I had firmware 2.0.0 and upgraded to 2.1.1 then notaz's patch.
During the firmware upgrade 2.0.0 -> 2.1.1 I got an upgrade message. During the upgrade to from 2.1.1 -> notaz's patch i did not see any messages saying the firmware was upgraded.
Now, during start up the screen says Firmware Ver -2.0.0, when I go to Settimgs-Info I see the message tjat this is version 2.1.1

Is this correct?

Just installed the Notaz patch on my old rusty F100 and it reads my 4 GB Sandisk Ultra II without any problem.

Darn, doesn't work :( That's a Dane-elec 4gig btw. Oh well, maybe someday. Thanks though Notaz, it's great to know there are some people who really care about making the gp2x a better machine (wonder when gamepark will increase their sd card support) :)
Well, actually F-200 supports SHDC, so they did it now :\ And the F-200 firmware is also open to get it also for F-100s for better support

Is there a SDHC patch for the newest GP2X firmware 3.0.0?
that firmware sucks, is pretty the same but featuring an orrible graphic and less overall compatibility, use 2.1.1.
I heared it was done by craigx, if it's true, that's not a good sign for pandora xD

Don't use Version 4.0.0 for the F-100. It's not recommended!

This quote is from the GPH webside:

QUOTE
This version does not work for GP2X F-100 consoles. Future release for F-100 will be available at a later time.

The skin of the firmware 3.0.0 was created by EvilDragon. Craigix and ED made a few suggestions for the firmware, but the firmware itself is done by GPH.

Stephan

presuming the kernel upgrade goes OK, is it 100% safe to use? even with normal SD cards?
oh and BTW, do i need 2.1.1 to use this kernel? i have 2.0.0 right now.
