There's quite a few British WW2 films about battles that occurred prior to the US involvement, and I dare say other countries have films about their own wars, except not being in English I would be less likely to be aware of them.


I suppose there's also Welcome to Sarajevo, although the US were there as peacekeepers. Oh, and Zulu, though I can't think of any more historical British war movies off the top of my head.


Edit: And 'The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp' has a few scenes in flashback where the title character is on leave from the Boer war!

Where Eagles Dare.    Burton and Eastwood - don't take it too seriously... it's a great action film.

Also, 633 squadron, Kelly's Heroes, Full Metal Jacket, Good Morning Vietnam, Memphis Belle...
