I have a 128MB card and have very little on it, but it shows as having 65MB worth of data on it - Is this due to FAT12? I cannot see what else to delete now to fit an .avi on the memory card! I cannot understand what's taking up the space - Especially as some people only have 64MB cards!!! Are there some files hidden that are large? (Much like the swap file under windows?)

Where are you seeing the file sizes on your SMC? Are you looking on PC-link? I don't really know what could cause false file sizes, but maybe just look in PC-link at everything you've loaded and it's file size. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. :(

Yes - Under PC Link the size of all the files shows as 65MB and I cannot put my 75MB avi file on due to this... Is there another type of "link" program that I could use??? If not, I might just search for another cheap 128MB card (I've been trying to see where in this group someone said about where to get cheap 128MB cards from in the UK) - It'll be handy too as I can then encode a media file up to 120MB or so :)

I've found some cards at the site (http://www.mymemory.uk.com/)

Lexar Smartmedia 128 MB = £17.99
SanDisk SM 128 MB = £27.03
Integral SM 128 MB = £29.03

Anyone know of cheaper (Above inc. VAT but not including p&p) - Or is Lexar any good? All are 3.3v

Samsung: (http://www.offtek.co.uk)

128MB SM = £28.20 Inc VAT/Delivery.

Try www.ebuyer.com for cheap 128mb cards, i got 1 for less than £20 including vat & delivery.

try refortmatting the SMC, also, are u using a smc writer or the actual unit use the latter and maybe it'll work?
