I want to start writing a little game, probably using OGRE-python but not sure yet (suggestion welcome). Well, it's less of a game and more of testing cool ways of controlling spaceships with the dual-analog+dpad input that the Pandora has.
Anyway, I would like to be able to have a few models that I know I can use in the game. Now, I know of quite a few websites that offer free (as in beer) 3d models, but usually they have these "do not distribute/modify/sneeze/look funny at models with out the author's permission". I would like to have that are a little more usable (CC?, GPL? I dunno what's common...)

So does anyone know where I can find some? They don't need to be top quality, I basically just need 2 spaceships...

If you're just experimenting and not distributing, I don't think you have anything to worry about. However, if you need models to actually put in a game you plan to distribute... I'm quite frankly unsure of where to go as well!

Ever tried this site?
I couldn't find anything about licensing, though but maybe the license is included in the download.

Also remember that you can use stuff from other GPL games!

That isn't always true... some games have separate licenses for their art and engines

I wanted to thank everyone for all the links, I have found some good things!
In addition I wanted to add for anyone that needs it:
http://search.freegamedev.net/
(which uses http://ghoulsblade.schattenkind.net/wiki/index.php/FreeArtSearch)

Maybe this should be documented on a developer wiki or something like that?
