Gizmondo Cracked?

http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...ssPageName=WDVW

its only 190 euros.... with smartadds :p

i might get one in some months....
i dont know how much you would have to pay for a psp but i dont think its much cheaper...

and 2.8" sounds not THAT bad to me.
with a 400mhz cpu, scaling should be not such a big problem...

But well project ninja comes first ;) i have no money yet but i will probably buy both if the jizz gets its homebrewn szene :)

Ok, you lot who are complaining about the screen size: have you atually ever seen it?

On paper it sound really bad but when you see it it is well lit and pin sharp. Its so much sharper than the PSP's screen which looks a little on the blurry side to me. ......

Oh god, now we will have Jiz fanboiz to deal with now too ;) Have I seen it? no but since I have seen the size of the screen on the GBA and this is the same, I get a good idea. I never liked the size of the GBA screen so...

We'll see how this thing turns out. If it flies wide open like the GP32, I might buy one... I dunno, I'll have to wait and see. I can deal with the screen, I just wish it had start and select.

The screen is not small.

A portable system is supposed to be portable. Its the sort of thing you play on the bus or train, or in bed or outside. There is no need for a huge screen making the device massive. I happily play games on my mobile phone, so this screen will seem huge to me.

yay insanity over..... gizmondo?!?
damn i have been lurking all day for news on this :S

Yes Blah, you have... because that's the funniest goddamn thing I've ever read.

Leave your judgements. Is screen-size unbareable?

And the most real-life picture I could find:

To be honest, I WOULD want to pick it up if I saw it. It is inviting but I must agree that long exposure periods may get taxing and forget watching movies on it.

Yes the Jizzmondo may be bad for your eyes.

It just looks too much like the Leapfrog handheld. Big size, small screen, stupid buttons. WTF, Gizmondo is mono?

I withhold judgement for now.

My gut tells me not to like it, and I'm the person who had fun on my Game.Com and R-Zone (Oh yes, I have both of them..). I really don't see much commercial games that would interest me, and I don't understand why everyone's saying that Colours game looks good... Sticky Balls looks kind of cool, but I'm not buying a system for a puzzler.

If a homebrew scene develops that is making substantial progress in emulation, I'll look into it. For now, pass.

And is that a small screen or what?! :D

yoou said it! :D
seriously, i don't see the hype over the Giz. sure it has a powerful processor and huge amount of ram, but where is this homebrew scene???
i won't go crazy about it until i see something, especially now that there are other powerful handhelds available.
and yeah, the screen size is a big factor, at least to me. it's probably the same size as what's displayed on the psp screen when an emulator(like PSPGenesis) is used(@320x240).

edit:
looking at the pictures above..the screen size doesn't look too bad. now if only those stop watch thingy shoulder buttons weren't there...

The screen is no problem to me, it's just like a GBA screen, but a much higher resolution, so should be really sharp.

As for "start & select", why? The Gizmondo has the same number of buttons as the gp32 - but in a better arrangement in my opinion. You can always use two of the buttons on the right as your "start" and "select" buttons if you must, but I'd much prefer the 4 buttons together, rather than having them spread out like on the gp32.

As for homebrew, well, wince is kinda a standard, so it shouldn't take long to work out how to develope for it, and there's only so many ways you can place your drm into wince, which gives me a few ideas on how to possibly "steer around" the drm...

I wonder if the Carphone warehouse near me sells them. I need to buy one.

the buttons along the top edge of the screen can be assigned functions as well. At least I know two of them for sure are assignable, as I saw they performed different functions in different games, but similiar functions to what a proper start and select button would do.

Dave - no ones listening to you anymore dude, you don't like anything. And if you say "well I like the GP32" I swear to god I'll smack you.

Really how does one get to be so negative, anyways?????

I think what people mean is that it should be ABCD RL as well as start and select, with the start and select in the same position as on the GP32.

Of course there are five more buttons on the top, so this is fairly irrelevent in my opinion.
