Ok so I have actually started working on a gp2x webpage dedicated to collecting bounties for different projects.
The website is almost finished. The idea is to collect money to fund a project that many people want to see come to life. The more money that is collected, the more incentive a programmer has to complete the project. Some of the possible projects include a complete media player that plays more files than the one GPH currently offers. Another possible project could be a better optimized pdf viewer.

I just wanted to get an idea of the kind of programs that people want on the gp2x. I would like to possibly narrow it down and then have some kind of voting thing for the most popular ideas so that I can I choose which projects to have bounties on. Thanks.

Oh yea and is someone willing to hold on to the money forgot to include that. One of you guru guys maybe??

Better music player, for sure.
Although a better one might magically appear after the mplayer source comes out...

Kind of doubt that though. Mplayer is a much better video player than music player, as far as features go.

Maybe some sort of front-end to mplayer?

Edit: What is used as the music player now?

Yeah, dos games with an easy interface so there's little messing about with a virtual keyboard. That would be amazing!

Where did all this come from? Only this/last week did I start 3 lengthy detailed threads on a homebrew bounty, you can't miss them. Then this pops out of no where? It sounds like you've completely ripped off the info from my threads. Sorry, but it does.

There is so much that has to be thought through before you even begin a project like this. Even after all the lengthy discussion i've had with people, there's still a hell of a lot that needs to be sorted out. You don't just go and start something like this on a whim, and It'd be helpful if you actually outlined everything you want to do in detail.

I just find it very odd that your post seems to contain information that's been posted in all 3 of the threads, it's just been worded a little differently.

Ok I'm sure a lot of us have been thinking about ideas like this. I wasn't trying to rip you off. I just saw that people like you and I have been interested in an idea like this. Problem is nobody really wanted to follow through (including you as far as I know) I just thought hey if its gonna happen we gotta make it happen. I'd be happy if u to give me some insight as to what else needs to be sorted out or help me out. I'm not trying to take credit for stuff I'm just trying to see it happen....

Well, an extra person on board would certainly help, especially if you're capable of webdesign. We'd need a few more people on board to sort through submitted entries for the bounty and such, but it's a step in the right direction :)

It wasn't that I had given up, I just wanted someone more experienced to handle the project. Nobody came forward, so I assumed that i'd still have to sort things out.
