What are the chances of seeing a .mid player for the GP32? That would use little to no processing power and there are lots of nice mids available 'round the net. Emulators could have the option of playing them while in game, which would rock. Even to to listen to if you want to listen to some tunes but don't have room for MP3s( about five minutes fit in about 100kb). Just a thought.

Dunno. I mentioned this once before, someone mentioned scummvm using midi, then it didn't really get expanded on.

As far as I know the GP32 doesn't actually have a MIDI chip so, everything is done using software. The problem is GamePark didn't put the midi playing stuff in with the current version of the free SDK, so no one has been able to use it yet. <_<

Anyway, that's just what I've read elsewere, I could be wrong

Sounds like a job for timidity++ the patch based midi player - It's open source. Just needs someone to port it and package it nicely for the gp32.

ScummVM, GP edition uses Timitidy++ for midi playing, I believe.

So tap them for the source, and it would be easy to make one.
