Official Tapwave Zodiac Thread

Wow, thanks for adding a Zodiac section. I was having trouble finding games, too. I'll contribute if I find anything good.

Hello zodfolks!

A VERY good site for newbies:

http://zodiacfrance.wordpress.com/

It has a lot of information from the best web zodiac had, zodiacfrance.com

If anyone is still active over at Tapland can you do me a huge favor and send a PM to an admin or mod asking them to approve my registration? I've been wanting to post there but seems nobody's checking new registrars anymore. I've sent emails with no response so I'm pretty much sol at this point. I signed up with the same user name, thanks guys!!!

Does anyone know how to get hot sync to work on win7? It won't even work with bluetooth. For some reason the Zodiac's drivers just won't install, even if I point the way right to them. I'm thinking I'll have to dig out my XP machine.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

BTW, does anyone know of any sites still selling Plasmoids and Firehammer? Can't find 'em anywhere!
I have the files for Firehammer if you need them. Do you possibly have the files for Tomb Raider?
also, could you maybe ask to get my account fast tracked at tapland?

I posted in the same thread that Xmoon started for me so hopefully they'll take notice. Unfortunately, it's not too active over there any more! :(

You registered with the same screen name I assume?

From Tapland forums:

Given how specific the Zod drivers are, I don't know if these will help anyone trying to get a Zod to sync with 64-bit Windows, but it might be worth a try - Aceeca, one of the few companies still releasing PalmOS devices has developed drivers to allow syncing with 64-Bit Windows 7 - more details:

Discussion of their use with various devices here:

Does anyone know how to past the Tape Loader screen? I'm trying to run Salamand.Z80 and I get asked to insert the tape and press play, lost :-(

Tapwave Zodiac 2

Thanks Xmoon, .TAP file did the trick. I prefer the Zodiac over the Caanoo for Spectrum Emulation, the bigger screen helps a lot too!

Very interesting interview with Byron Connell here.

For example, we eliminated the idea of implementing "motion sensing" for games after getting feedback from game developers and customers and looking at relative value and cost of the feature.

Stupids developers!

Games playable in a Tapwave Zodiac from here. Thanks to Jammy2049.

Hi all,
Glad to see this forum is still going....even if my 3 Zodiac 2's have all died :/

I've recently been going through all my videos and uploading them to YouTube, and
I had a great time reminiscing about the Zodiac and all the great games which I played on it!

Between 2005-2007, I produced many videos including Gameplay Clips and Video Reviews/Overviews
over at Plank Films Mobile for the Tapwave Zodiac.

I thought I'd post the link here since I'm sure it will bring back some happy memories,
remembering how much fun we all had with the system!

Gameplay Clips Playlist - (139 Videos of various games including -3D Zapman, Animated Dudes, Broken Sword, Colony, Daedalus 3D, Doom, EDGE, Geopod XE, Legacy, Snails, Warfare Inc....and a little collection of Unreleased Zodiac games including Tomb Raider, Terminator 3 and MTX)

Video Reviews Playlist - (16 Video Reviews of Tapwave Zodiac titles including Warfare Inc, ZapEm, Tony Hawks, Spyhunter, Orbz, Duke Nukem Mobile, Bike Or Die)

Video Overviews Playlist - (15 Videos, mainly CrazySoft titles such as Paintball and Croker, but includes a closer look at the unreleased MTX and Hockey Rage 2004 titles)

Why not give Linux a shot? Linux for Palm Os devices. Give your Zodiac a new lease on life.
