The moment there's more money freely available, you guys should really look into advertising more. I had never even heard of Pandora until I saw it on Hackaday.

The community here seems pretty small, and I think without a lot more people, Pandora could come to a quick end. The biggest thing I learned about Business & Marketing is that the start is always the most important thing about running a business. In general, people don't tend to tell other people without motivation. Only right around 1/10 people are capable of programming a decent game, or decent software..The community is so small right now though, that there probably aren't that many people who are going to produce software for pandora. Since there won't be a lot of software available, others will be less reluctant to spread the word, or get bored of the device.

As for advertising this site, i'm a web designer, and there's a lot of things that could be done.

I'd first suggest getting started with GoogleAds, it's very cheap and effective. It's also a smart idea to fix your metatags. Lets look at your header:

Code:
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />
<meta http-equiv="content-language" content="en-gb" />
<meta http-equiv="content-style-type" content="text/css" />
<meta http-equiv="imagetoolbar" content="no" />
<meta name="resource-type" content="document" />
<meta name="distribution" content="global" />
<meta name="copyright" content="2000, 2002, 2005, 2007 phpBB Group" />
<meta name="keywords" content="" />
<meta name="description" content="" />
<title>OpenPandora.org &bull; Post a new topic</title>

For keywords and description, you've left them blank. This will drop you low in google search, and not provide good explanation of the site.

You should also find some gaming/portable gaming sites to partner with, building links is an amazingly effective way to advertise that many people overlook.

The biggest thing that will boost your userbase would be to have news-worth articles written on the device on sites with an already massive fanbase. For example, the Hackaday article got you massive amounts of hits. If you were to have a special done on the Pandora device on a site such as Gametrailers or Gamespot, your userbase will expand exponentially.

The site itself could use quiet a few changes. Right now the look is nice, and clean. But you should remember that you're selling a handheld; at least 60% of your consumers are major gamers. This doesn't strike me as a site that appeals to gamers at all, although it does appeal to coders.

I could keep on going, but as i read over this, it seems like i'm coming off as rude..Which is unintentional, I was just making some suggestions.

Thanks for reading ^-^

Googling for "Pandora" lists openpandora.org as the 3rd result down.
I think they're doing all right, and advertising before the first batch has even shipped will only strengthen the rumors that Pandora is going to be vaporware.
