Don't know if it has been mentioned previously, but another one that stays stuck at the loading screen is Parasite Eve 2, NTSC version.

The emulator loves to lag randomly lag sometimes when I use the emulator, especially on:
Medievil 1 + Medievil 2

Tekken 3 (A lot less common)

Crash Bandicoot - Warped (It does lag randomly, but it IS virtually unnoticeable.)

Yet, I LOVE THIS EMULATOR. :)

Thumbs Up From Polukus :)
If I had money, I'd pay you for this. :p

The new menu option is nice.

How does it choose which file it shows.

I have .bin and .cue files for each  game (and .sbi sometimes)

For some games it shows the .bin file and for others the . cue files.

I always used the .bin file for every game to launch it.

The games are ripped with the same program.

Final Fantasy 7 CD 1 is .bin, CD 2 and CD 3 are .cue.

All CDs are ripped by myself with the same program.

FF 8 is the same,

FF 9 are all .cue.

Don't get me wrong launching the .cue works for those games displayed as .cue and it's no problem for me. I'm just interested when the .bin and when the .cue are displayed.

This is because of lack of cache emulation, some loop is running too slow and the game breaks. There is "speed hacks" option in advanced options, set PSX clock to 90% there, then reload (not reset) the game. You should not set this for other games, that will break them (use "save config for current game only" after changing this).

It just prefers .cue files if they are valid, as that makes multifile .cue/.bin work. If it shows .bin when you also have a .cue, it means the filename(s) inside .cue are wrong (or case is wrong, like AA.BIN instead of aa.bin).

Thanks a bunch, that did the trick ;)

Thanks for your explanation.

sadly Porg's Driver work-around doesnt seem to work for me :(

i'm also having issues with Spyro 3 - guessing this is a known problem also

I'm having a few issues with some games as well. Strider 2 just starts playing music but doesn't load, and Castlevania SOTN goes to the title screen buy won't allow me to start the game anymore...

issues as in spyro 3 completely fails to load, when i attempt to load the disk image i just get a black screen... however i havent tried it with your new revision, that will wait for tomorrow, i'll rip a fresh disk image from the CD.

From find a new image. Different region maybe.

Some just don't work. GT2 - Some just don't work :)

By multifile do you mean when there are multiple .bin files referred to within the .cue (if the audio has been ripped into separate .bin files instead of a whole disc image as a single .bin)?
I ask because only .bin shows up in the file selector for all my games, but the .cue files are definitely all valid (all my games with cdda work fine, they fail if I remove the .cue). All my rips are a single .bin file including the cdda tracks, so only the audio timings are pointed to.

Although the original rip destination & filename is noted all in capitals at the top, in reality it's mostly lower case - so it seems to just be an irrelevant memo.

EG, my Tomb Raider .cue file by way of example:

FILE "C:\PLAYSTATION BINARIES\TOMB RAIDER 1 (PAL)\TRAIDER1PAL.BIN" BINARY

Spyro 3 also gives me a prolonged black screen after starting the iso but eventually does show up and plays fine. Can you hear any music/background noise during the black screen?

That's the reason it doesn't show as .cue in file browser, Linux is case sensitive. And the reason it works anyway is that because when you load a .bin, there is fallback mechanism to still look for a .cue based on the .bin name.

Ah ok, so with my Tomb Raider .cue ( Here ) I changed the first line to read:

FILE "TRaider1PAL.bin" BINARY

So the filename and extension match the case of the bin/cue files (no path needed) and now the .cue

file is displayed instead of the .bin - works either way, but I just wanted to know!

FWIW, I initially edited the first line and mistakenly left the .bin in upper case - when it read

FILE "TRaider1PAL.BIN" BINARY

BOTH .cue and .bin files were shown in the file selector! Either worked fine.

Thanks!

just a little update for peeps: managed to get spyro 3 working, exactly the same disk image. No tinkering required. It just works great on the latest revision.

Is there any way to use nubs/stylus for lightgun games? i've tried to configue this before in the menu with little success, cant get touch/stylus to work for some reason
