Pentominos puzzle, goal is to tile the entire board with the 12 pentominos. Read more about this game concept at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentomino

The game is in early stages and will be updated and polished in 2009. Any feedback is appreciated and will be used to make a better 1.0 version.

Thank you very, very much. I'll be messing with it this weekend and I'll give you some feedback.

Thanks again,

Chris

Fun game and more polished already than most all GP2X releases. Alex's alphas are other's final releases :D

I forgot to mention in the readme that you rotate pieces clockwise with B, and horizontally flip them with Y.

Thanks for the post Kojote, and for the nice replies christo and Senquack! Here's hoping I'll be a bit more productive in the new year than in the one past :D

This is a tough game; I only managed to solve one solution so far, but...

It seems the solution saving doesn't work properly; it saves an identical solution as a new solution, and mirrored and/or flipped solution also counts as new solutions.

Is it possible to add a move wrap when in the 'select mode'? It would make it easier to jump to the right side of the puzzle.

Also, can a button be set to remove a piece, while not exiting the 'select mode', and then select the next nearest piece? It would make it easier to remove a bunch of pieces at a time.

Thanks for making this game, and hope to see it get improved some more :D

Hey Manjuu, :)

Giving an identical solution seems to get rejected here, I tried it both from a loaded game and from a new one, and it never made it through. I'll check it again though, I likely did something silly there. Mirrored solutions are treated as separate findings at the moment, I'm not sure whether that should be changed or not.

I'll put in the move wrap and the remove button, every bit that helps make this play smoother is a must. Perhaps at this point it would be useful to have the controls drawn on-screen at all times :D

I tried it out again... still saves it as new solution until I tried loading it (I never tried it before), which finally rejected it. It accepted it only once more for a new game, then it seems to always rejects it now. I then tried one of the mirrors, it accepted it only once for a new game, then rejects it for the rest.

Here is a screenshot of the solution screen for reference. To anyone else, spoiler ahead. :p

EDIT: If it is of any help, the solution number that it points to when it rejects it is #7... which is odd, since there are three identical before that and one after.
