In a fit of stupidity, I formatted my nand memory in my gp2x. Is there an easy way to restore the games that were there when I got it? THe games there the standard games from the value pack that I assume were part of the 3.x firmware. As I understand it, the limited versions of the games are different from the normal versions you can download. Do i need to reinstall the firmware to get them back? Does the 3x firmware install without issue over the 3x firmware?

I found a 4gb high-spped sd card for $14 at Staples today which I thought was an excellent price, but would I have to upgrade the firmware of my GP2X to use the card? It says it 4gb SD-HC or something, so does that mean I have to upgrade? If so, is it painless or risky? I remember back when the 3x first came out and people were changing firmwares, they were bricking their systems due to a bug that marked part of the nand as bad or something? Does that problem still exist? I guess that would really apply to both questions.

Thanks,

Chris

Ive always thought the value pack was mostly things you could download from the archives. I think it was introduced in the later 4.X.X firmwares.

Theres a module by Notaz that can enable support for the SDHC cards. Maybe this thread will show you what you need: Link

did a tar on gp2xfw3.tar value pack rip. if you want these versions just find the rip and extract them and put them in a directory to run. no need to reflash, but will take space on SD (25MB)
